Which Rookie First Round pick from this years draft do you see being out of the NBA after their rookie contract expires?

Recent examples include Julius Hodge, Hilton Armstrong, Cedric Simmons, Saer Sene, Yaroslav Korolev, etc…

My first immediate pick would be Daniel Orton from this years crop. Any others?

Wow can these guys play actually games before you call them bust. It is still too early and also you can judge a big man so early like that.

The mistakes Orton is making right now has to do with lack of NBA expierience or basketball experience for that matter.

Daniel Orton may have ruined his career Sheltwon and you can see it everytime you see him. He is moving way to fast in his life, but can you blame him he got his gauranteed contract before the new CBA. He should be on campus preparing for his next season at Kentucky so he can prove he is an NBA type talent not on 1 of the 5 NBA Championship calibur teams fighting for a possible backup C position (if Orlando moves Gortat).

These are all just early predictions based on previous examples. I’m not coming on here writing a detailed analysis on why Orton will be out of the NBA.

I just want people to share who they feel are possible candidates to be out of the NBA after their rookie contract is done, because every draft has quite a few.

LoL..Yeah let these guys play before labeling them as failures..
Anyone that follows basketball knows that the Summer League is a guards dominated event..So give Orton a pass a little..But he does seem to have that deer in the headlight look..
Maybe he’s in awe of playing in a professional setting..
But if he’s smart and it appears he might be out of the league after his rookie contract expires..He should kidnap Russell Westbrook tie him up & hide him some place..And pretend he’s him..Becuz Orton & Westbrook look so much alike………

Kevin Seraphin- Project bigs are always more attractive before they are on the payroll. I think he could end up like Ajinca and trying to scrap his way in a summer league to get his fourth year option picked up in a few years.

Lazar Hayward- I like Hayward, but that is a bad spot for a late first rookie. He isn’t likely to see a ton of time with Johnson and Webster also in the fold. With the stock pile of former picks who have been stashed abroad likely to join the team in the coming years, he might be a part of a numbers crunch if they don’t move him.

Larry Sanders- As Joe Alexander can attest, this regime makes players earn their keep in Milwaukee. Sanders seems to be a hard worker, but Scott Skiles does not hand anyone minutes. If he shows himself to be a bit of a project and gets buried on the bench, they won’t keep him around just because he was a pick.

Ekpe Udoh- The organization is going to turn over to a new owner, probably a new GM, and almost certainly a new coach in the next year or so. The new brain trust might go out and look at the collection of Wright, Randolph, and Udoh and wonder why in the world a team would need all three of them. The favorite to be on the way out would have to be Wright, but if he gets off to a good start this year it could shift to Udoh being the odd man out.

Daniel Orton- I don’t think Stan Van will put up with nonsense for long, and if Orton doesn’t grow up quickly he might not be long for Orlando.
