It looks like 2020 has claimed another member of the nba community way too young. The circumstances of his death at just 53 years old are still unknown right now, but he did suffer a stroke a few years back.
Uncle cliffy was never exactly a star but he had a long and productive career spanning 18 seasons. He made an all-star team and won a sixth man of the year award. He had a couple of 50 point games. He was in many ways ahead of his time was one of first true stretch bigs in the league, with his ability to score both inside and out. He was also a very versatile defender who had the size and speed to guard across several positions. He actually seems like he would have fit almost perfectly in today’s league.

Very Eerie that 4 members of that 1990-91 Blazers team have passed (Cliff Robinson,Kevin Duckworth,Jerome Kersey & Petrovic) all of them before their 55 birthday….

    RIP: CLIFF

I loved those early ’90s Blazers teams: Porter, Drexler, Kersey, Williams, Duckworth, Robinson first off the bench.
They might have fared better in the modern NBA than any of the teams that kept them from winning a championship. With Danny Ainge also coming off the bench, they could keep 4 respectable shooters on the floor at all times; and when Cliff came in for Duckworth, they had versatile, switchable defenders at every position.
RIP Cliff, thank you for the joy you brought to all basketball fans.
