    Disappointing, we either go the Mike Brown route or look for an assistant coach who looks ready for the promotion. No one on the market is better than Rick..

    Adelman is probably leaving a bad situation anyways. The Rockets franchise is in a limbo right now, with Yao Ming’s career in jeopardy, they have no young players that you can build a franchise around. Adelman is a great coach and Im sure he will have no problem finding a new one.

    big mistake.

    Knicks, Kings, (maybe Lakers if Phil calls it quits) but lemme throw out a dark horse… the WIZARDS. That teams needs a coach they can believe in and Rick Adelman is that man.

    This is the biggest mistake for Darryl Morey.  I don’t see how he can get a better coach.  With the team they have, Adelman should be given a lot of credits for getting over .500 records for the past 2 years.

    I am not too happy about this.

    Rockets assistant Elston Turner, Dallas; Dwane Casey, San Antonio; Mike Budenholzer and Boston; Lawrence Frank, the former Nets coach, are assistant coaches expected to be targeted by teams with openings.

    Larry Brown and Mike Dunleavy discussed the Rockets opening before Van Gundy was hired.

    The only ones that may be as good as Adelman would be Van Gundy and Larry Brown, but I would take Adelman over both any day.  It is pretty doubtful they would go back to Van Gundy and Larry Brown would probably kill the locker room chemistry by his 2nd season (look at the Knicks, the Bobcats).  Since it’s already settled, I may give a chance to Lawrence Frank since he did pretty well with limited talent during his time with the Nets.

    Mike Brown just got his records because of LBJ.  I don’t think he’s a good coach.

     Rick Adelman is an amazing coach… He won’t go jobless for long… Perhaps LA can consider him as a replacement for the Zen?
