Considering the Toronto Raptors are the 11th most valueable team in the NBA for 2009 at an estiumated $386 Million this should never have happened. But since it did heres the thing. There are rebuilding positives and rebuilding negatives. Even thou the Raptors aqcuired Ed Davis and Soloman Alabi they will probally be the worse defensive team in the paint next year since we are losing Bosh Alavb has inexperience and so does Davis and Toronto is STILL starting Bargnani at C. Why BC decides to pay a 4 amir Johnson 34 Mil over 5 years and continue leaving a void at the 5 position I do not know.Another problem with the situation is there are no quality C’s in next years draft ( we may see one of the freshman bigs shock everyone and play amazing although it is unlikely) so this will most likely be an ongoing problem which means multiple rebuilding years. I truly believe the Raptors will be rebuilding until they land a really good C and slide Bargnani to PF.

    CHRIS BOSH-
Toronto. Say goodbye to the greatest Raptor ever. His career in Toronto is done like dinner and as a Raptors fan I am happy he gave us what he did. He played his ass off out there on the court every night and earned every dollar of his max contract. Bosh took this Toronto team much farther than it should have gone even though it lacked talent in many positions. Jermaine Oneal was the only defensive oreinted C Bosh played with and that team was stacked with scrubs and had no bench presence. When Bosh returns to his home away from home Toronto, he will undoubtedly have very strong emotions, I really hope Raptors fans do not boo him like we did V.C. Carter quit on us when times got rough, Bosh`s last play was a broken face! Don`t blame Chris for leaving blame BC for not surrounding him with sufficient talent. Now it looks like he is headed for Chicago to play with the proper amount of talent. If Bosh walks and Toronto doesnt recieve any value in return for Bosh dont blame Chris, blame BC. Here is the breakdown of potential value returned.

It may seem wise for Toronto to just leave Cap Space and rebuild with a good young core than target FA’s in the future (especially with the new CBA), but when nobody wants to go to Toronto you have to get your talent however you can.Bosh has had negotiations with Miami, New Jersey, Houston, New York, and Chicago with serious consideration. At the end of the day it looks like he will sign with Chicago but I`ll break down each `realistic`trade oppurtunity. Teams are playing hardball.

    1)CHICAGO’s ASSETS-
James Johnson, Joakim Noah, Luol Deng, Taj Gibson, Omer Asik, Original Draft Picks,Charlotte’s 2011 2nd Round Pick.

Aqcuiring Noah would be BC’s main priority but I see Chicago playing harball and not offering Joakim. BC doesn’t want Dengs contract so he’s off the table. Taj Gibson would be great to bring over with his former USC teammate Derozan, although I still don’t understand why BC signed Johnson and that signing may make him not target Gibson. James Johnson fits into the young, athletic, defensive scheme well. Asik is a bigman that is an athletic and solid 7 foot 250 pound, rebounding dunking and shot blocking C, he has developed his body and his game well since being drafed 36th overall and traded for Sonny Weems to Chicago and could be a solid C in the L. The problem is he’s injury prone so he should come for cheap, he tore legiments in his knee and broke his collarbone. Think of Tibor Pliess finally developed.

With that being said I see a final offer of..
James Johnson,Taj Gibson, Omer Asik, Charlotte’s 2011 2nd Round Pick.
    or
    17 Mil TE, Chicago’s 1st Round Draft Pick 2011, Chicago’s 1st Round Draft Pick 2012

    #2)MIAMI’s ASSETS-
Micheal Beasley, Mario Chalmers, Joel Anthony S&T, Original Draft Picks, Memphis’s 2012 2nd Round Draft Pick, New Jersey’s 2012 2nd Round Draft Pick, New Orleans 2012 2nd RoundDraft Pick.

Rumours have spread reporting BC not interested in Miami’s offer of Beasley, Chalmers, and Anthony and instead requesting a 17Mil TE and Draft Picks including Toronto’s conditional 2010 to 2015 Draft Pick (lottery protected although if the protection comes into play Miami recieves a 2nd round pick every year until they receive the 1st round pick). Micheal Beasley will not be coming to Toronto. He is a headcase and the owners of the Toronto Raptors the Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment is owned mostly by the Ontario’s Teacher Pension Plan at 66%. I doubt that they would appreciate a rehab commited , bad moraled B-Easy starting at SF.Chalmers had a marijauna scandel with Beasley so I doubt he would be coming here. Joel anthoiny could possibly be worked into the trade but I’m sure he would just sign to Toronto outright..

With that being said I see a final offer of….
17 Mil TE, Toronto’s conditional 2010 to 2015 draft pick returned, and one or 2 of the 2nd round draft picks along with Joel Anthony to make Canadian fans feel good.

Bosh is going where Wade is so listing any other suitors is pretty much useless. NY is the only otherteam with any possibillities of signing Bosh but with wade from Chicago and currently very committed to Miami New York has a much better chance with Stoudemire and Lebron.

    BOSH’s OVERALL RATING -10/-10

    HEDO TURKOGLU –
Turk has decided he is comfortable playing this next season in Toronto which probally means BC convinced him that his stock is to low and to be fair next season BC will force Triano to let Turkoglu be a focal oint of the offense. With Bosh gone Turkoglus role on this team should increase in so many aspects and he should be very saught after by NBA GMs. Than trade him at the deadline for late picks and Cap relief to a team who needs a Wing for a playoff push. That is whats most likely going to happen.

Some teams I’ve heard are interested in Turkoglu and could be interested in them given thier history are the Suns, Clippers, Kings, Spurs, Nets, and desperate teams who get nothing out of free agency. If the Raps could pull a deal to the Kings or the Clips who maybe looking to make a playoff push come Winter time landing Hassan Whiteside or Jerome Jordan they chould consider themselves lucky. Maybe Charlotte tries to mix things up and we could make a deal for Diaw and/or Chandler and/or Diop who have heavy contracts but are in the 1 to 3 year range. Trading Turks 5 Year contract for a heavy 3 year contract could prove to be the only way out.

If the Raps manage to move him and clear cap room without giving up any assets it would be a huge boost to the rebuilding process and the orginization. If not it could be 5 devestating years in Jurassic Park. The Raps need more losses to get a higher pick and I think trading Turkoglu will help that cause. He does not fit in with the athletic youth movement in Toronto. Also these young players need to get experience Turk will eat up at least 30 MPG.

    Turkoglu’s Overall Rating -9/-10

    JOSE CALDERON-
Jose is a very good PG and the most effecient PG in the L when he ios on. He had a bad season last year which he will definitely improve on. He is committed to winning at all costs. Offensively noone can doubt his game but he has major limitations defensively and his lack of athletisism does not fit in with this youthful teams approach. Also he has another extremely heavy contract which makes his case that much worse. Jack took over his starting roll being a much better fit for this Raptors team, although Calderon is the better player.

Once again a heavy contract isnt easy to move. Any value returned while clearing this contract would be a blessing to the Raptors orginization. BC has to know when to swallow his pride and make the right move for his franchise even when the right move is correcting mistakes.

NY may need a PG and if we could aqcuire and expiring contract Curry and Chandler a young wing that would be a win for T.O. Charlotte maybe in the need of a PG if Felton leaves. They have Tyson Chandler an expiring contract and 7 foot C and they have many big contracts they may wanna move around.

If Toronto gets good young talent or value for the future in return for Chris Bosh and manages to clear at least some oif the $70 MIL owed to Calderon and Turkoglu over the next 4 years Toronto’s future looks bright. With a Top 5 selection and a maybe another lottery selection in the next 2 years added to this very good core Toronto could be a dangerous team going forward. Definitely got some dark days ahead but lets look at the core of this team.

    Jarrett Jack-26
    Andrea Bargnani-24
    Demar Derozan-20
    Amir Johnson-23
    Sonny Weems-23
    Ed Davis-21
    Soloman Alabi-22
    Marco Bellinelli-24

Also Toronto owns two $5 MIL expiring contracts in Marcus Banks and Reggie Evans.

So to awnser your question NYCREALDEAL I am excited to see how the offseason works out regarding Calderon, Turkoglu, Bosh and the mystery Mid Level Exception Signing (who I hope is Randy Foye).I am also excited to watch the development of the most promosing collective core of players the Toronto Raptors has ever had. As a long term fan I dont mind waiting and watching Toronto develop the right way, and I believe that the Raptors oganization has prepared for the loss of Chris Bosh well other than overpaying Turkoglu and Calderon’s contracts.

its funny wen u talkd shi-t your team became shi-t

but toronto will be in a rut for a few years
probably looking at wors team in nba

Yah I enjoy getting high/drunk and bashing the Knicks idk why. Really messes up my points…all you Knicks fans like to give me negs. I actaully hope NY gets Lebron and Stoudemire, that would be some damn exciting basketball especially since they are in the Atlantic. it will also result in more Raps losses giving us a higher draft pick. Cheers Bud no hard feelings.

I think once Bosh decides on where he wants to go, the possibilities will begin to open up. Why would ay team put together a decent offer at this point? Right now, they will simply want to see how low Toronto would go. Once the decision is made, everyone is going to want in.

Beasley might not land in Toronto, but thee is value to him. The last thing Toronto would want to see happen is for Bosh and Wade decide to go to Miami, Toronto gets nothing, and Miami keeps their future first round pick. Would Boston get involved and offer Perkins for Beasley in a three way? Sacramento and Carl Landry? The possibilities are endless, and I am sure that the market for Beasley is not as thin as it appears. I just think teams don’t want to give up the cap room for him yet.

It really depends on what BC will do this offseason. A lot of people are saying Raptors are the worst team in the NBA. It won’t be a good team, probably not going to make the playoff, but it is not bad enough to be the worst team.

I hope they would just break up the team and rebuild from scratch. I am hoping to see a top 3 pick next year (Harrison Barnes, Enes Kanter, Jared Sullinger, Perry Jones are some of the good players for the next year). This would be my preferred way of getting the Raptors back on track.

The current Raptors team is loaded with decent players on bad contract but they are not bad enough to secure a top 3 pick. Since BC’s job is on the line, I am pretty sure he would do anything crazy to try to get this team in a position to fight for a playoff spot (and likely fall short). This is not good for the long term future of the team. The worst case scenario would be a few years of missing playoff and getting a 8~12 pick in every draft. This would suck big time.

I would rather the Raptors tank for 2 seasons and get a few top 5 pick prospects than to stay borderline competitive (which is what BC is planning to do).

After signing Amir 34 mil for 5 years, I know BC is out of his mind and he’s doing anything he can to keep the Raptors competitive while throwing away the future. He probably doesn’t care about the next a few years anyway, he only cares about this coming season because he won’t be with the Raptors if they can’t make the playoff in the upcoming season.

It is disappointing, but I can hardly see a competent GM running the Raptors in the near future.
