    Reeves Nelson, best known for the former UCLA player who was booted off of the team his junior year has gone through a tough road these past few years. Led the Bruins in scoring his sophomore year and made first team All PAC-12. Got into trouble early on into his junior year as he was then shortly kicked off the team. Signed with a team in Lithuania as he was then cut after a few games. Nelson then tried out for the Lakers last preseason with a non guaranteed contract as he was then cut from the team. Most recently his rights were acquired by the D-League expansion team the Delaware 87ers. He’s been through a lot lately hope he can get back on track with his life after the loss of his father.

    Sad. I just cant fathom how bad things have to be to commit suicide. I mean whatever you have bad going on, just try and change it. Live for your family and those around you.

    I was a big nelson supporter on this site during his brief stay at ucla. His sophomore year, he was fantastic. I thought he was the 5th best player in the pac 10 behind only derrick Williams, klay Thompson, Isaiah Thomas and nikola vucevic. Then his junior year he just went and acted like a complete ass and got kicked out. A guy I know who was a student at ucla and former walk on with the team says he met reeves a few times and that the guy was crazy. He was on the lakers summer and preseason teams last year and it was apparent he was not quite nba level. Hopefully he does not let his fathers suicide deter him from his getting his life on track.

      I just want to point this out “Live for your family and those around you” is wrong, you should live your life for your self, not for anybody else. If your life sucks so bad chances are people around them know something about what is happening, not that they would know he was suicidal but they must now he was depressed, and haven’t done anything. I am not saying he should commit suicide, I am just saying living for someone else isn’t a reason to live a life you don’t want to live.

I am not saying he should commit suicide, I am just saying living for someone else isn’t a reason to live a life you don’t want to live.

        I think you are presuming a lot to suggest ” obviously people around him knew something and did nothing”. And I like to think anyone who has become a father would lose the “live your life for yourself, not for anyone else” mentality.
