We all know how good of a scorer Ben Gordon is… He can hit tough shots and make clutch plays but on the otherside, he doesn’t seem to know anything else to make him fit well on the team other than shooting… ANd for this mere reason, the Bulls took a risk in letting him find another team for his services… This is why Ben Gordon is a blessing and a curse… A blessing because he can provide scoring when he’s hot… A curse when you know he is shooting poorly just like tonight against Dallas… 5 points, 1-16 FG, 0-6 3PT, 1 reb, 2 ast in 40 freakin’ minutes…

Yea it was a risky decision letting him go but he is a double edged sword other then scoring he offers you nothing so when he is having an off night, having him on the court puts you at a disadvantage. The Bulls made a risky decision and many criticized them for it but in the long run they made the right decision.

If he is guarded by bigger players like Andre Iguodala or Luc Richard Mbah A Moute, he is going to have a long night…

In my opinion, Gordon is too much of a liability to give starter’s minutes. If you’re gonna have a guy like Gordon as your starter, then you have to have the right people surrounding him. You need a pass-first point guard, a slashing small forward and defensive minded big men. His only major responsibility should be scoring because…. well, that’s the only thing that stands out about his game. It’s not necessarily a bad thing because every team in every league needs role players, but that’s exactly what Gordon is, a role player or a sixth man at best. He’s much better suited playing 20-28 minutes a game off the bench, and I hope he goes to that role once Rip Hamilton comes back.
