McDunkinSpanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo reported on Sunday that Real Madrid will offer a six-year deal to Rudy Fernandez worth $4.35 million annually.
Fernandez is due $2.2 million next season and would become a restricted free agent in 12-13.
Fernandez was traded to the Mavericks on the night of the draft.
Fernandez is expected to honor the remainder of his NBA contract and then return to Spain.

NO EZ BUCKETSParticipantAll fernandez ever asks for is a trade and then he just decides to leave. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a good player and I like his game, but he’s such a cry baby.

NYBALLASParticipantthis figures. on a draft night of terrible choices with a solid and potentially all star caliber player in jordan hamilton falling to the mavs I thought wow this is great for everybody he doesnt have to play for a shitty lottery team and the champ mavs, a team with all of its contributors being 30 or older they get some nice young talent who can play the 2 or 3 and give you some offense and defense. I thought on a night of mistakes this was the aaron rodgers fall. A could be great player slips way past than where hes expected to go only to land in the perfect situation a team with anidentity crisis at the 3 position who wins and veteran leadership and can teach the kid. But no, all thouse thoughts were gone in 1 minute when they announced the trade which made barley any sense to me unless the Nuggets are 100% getting rid of either danillo or chandler before the next season whenever that may be. Now the mavs just have annother 3pt shooter who could be gone next year when they could have had a versatlie do it all player who plays the 2 or 3, and for dirt cheap none the less on a 4 year rookie contract. Instead they put themselves in position to potentially handout some big bucks to keep rudy, keep their team somewhat one dimiensional as a 3pt shooting team who also relies on dirk doing it all within the perimeter while the nuggets make an even bigger cluster f***at the SF position unless afalo and hamilton are gunna share time at the 2. Which is still stupid to me when you have all the talent you have but are slim on minutes from the SF position down to the PG. I give them kudos for not having to give up much at all for him and hel be the replacement for JR, but they coulda made other moves to fill bigger holes.

bobbybParticipanthe is an underrated player and could be an asset to a lot of teams. Many guys ask for trades. Look at Stephen Jackson, signed a contract then asked to be traded right after he signed it. At least Rudy will be professional and play out the end of his NBA contract.
