I can NOT wait until the Celtics & Heat kick the season off. Rondo/KG will be trying to get in Rays head.

JoeyGladstoneParticipantRay Allen seems to be whining a lot nowadays. I honestly just think he wanted to be gone from there & he is just trying to cover it up with an excuse.
I mean he was a FA so no need for an excuse, but when you jump ship to your biggest rivalry in the conference all the hate you get is well deserved IMO.

royk927ParticipantWhen the celtics were struggling last year. Rays name came up a lot on rumor mills about being traded maybe he is taking offense to that.

torontoraptors10ParticipantIt’s not always about money. Sometimes it’s about the way an organization treats you and the at the age Ray Allen is at right now, I don’t think he cares about money but more about winning. Lets not forget the Celtics tried to trade him Memphis for OJ Mayo.

Boston offered him more. In the end, no, it wasn’t about the money, but with that quote he’s trying to make it seem as it is. I do think he was gonna leave regardless. Boston’s window was supposedly closed. There were already designs for bringing in more talent at the 2. The organization is really high on Avery Bradley and can see him at the 2 going forward. Then there’s the matter of his relationship with Rondo. Those 2 don’t really like eachother.

2) Organization treated him like crap. Why wouldn’t he want to leave after Boston tried to shop him for multiple seasons?
I didn’t like that he chose Miami for over some other contenders, but I can’t blame him for leaving. It’s like everyone knew but Boston.

SiggyParticipantIt worked out better for the C’s in the end. I think they upgraded that position with JET, Lee (jet lee??) and they still got Bradley whenever he gets back.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI’ve never read anything about Ray Allen saying he didn’t like playing with Rajon Rondo and vice versa. Rondo has said multiple times that, that whole situation was blown out of proportion. They probably didn’t really like each other, but do you like everybody you work with?
To be honest, I think it all came down to the fact Allen lost his starting spot to Avery Bradley. Then throw in the fact he was almost traded. It’s confusing why he’s talking about a contract…
It was his decision to make. I still think he was petty and sensitive though. He clearly signed with the Heat to be vindictive towards Ainge/Boston. Regardless, I think it’s better for Boston and it’s great for the Heat.

LipstickParticipantAnyone else love that this is REAL rivalry? It’s like these kind of rivalries have disappeared in sports, even in football, but not even Twitter can patch things up between Boston and Miami.

LipstickParticipantEither way would suck, but based on who was the most recent team to beat Boston I’d say Miami is worse. Just feels dirty joining a team that ended your season only five months ago.

kobyzParticipanti had no problem that he wanted to leave if he felt no good there, i have problem that he went to Miami, it’s betrayal, unclass and unsportsmanship act to go to the team that was your biggest rival in the last faw years, the team you hated in all your heart, only for chasing a ring like a beach… Ray Allen lost a lot of respect with that move!!
