In 5 years: I’d have Harden and Gordon as 1a and 1b. I’d have Beal as 2. He’s more complete then the others. He’s real strong and rebounds very well, he is a good shooter and can attack the hoop, and also plays very good defense. After that I think Lamb, Waiters, Rivers, and Derozan can all be interchangable. If Derozan can improve like he did from year one to year two it would be him, but I’m not sure if that will happen. Thornton and Brooks just seem to me like they will be the next wave of top 6th men scorers.

James Harden tops this list by a landslide. He can be the focal point of an offensive if he wanted too, and his ability to find his teammates is a great plus. Eric Gordon will also be great but needs to avoid injuries. I don’t see any of these guys joining the lights of Kobe or Wade but they can all be effective scorers on each team.

Don’t sleep on Marshon Brooks, if you watch him play, his game is very similar to Kobe’s game and he can develop into something special. Before his injury he was playing at a high level so look forward to him improving and just getting better.

Is that references at me? Because half the players on that list are rookies, and the others outside of Gordon/Harden are either one dimensional (Thornton), a rookie last year (Brooks) or had a disappointing season (Derozan).

I’m a fan of Derozan and his jump from his rookie year to his sophomore year was awesome. He didn’t have a bad year, I guess I just expected for out of him, especially since his FG% dropped nearly 5 points. I still have high hopes for the guy, but last season wasn’t what I had hoped for.

 I wouldn’t call Derozan’s season disappointing, yes his numbers dropped slightly from his sophomore season, but when Bargnani was injured he was the focal point of the offense, and for almost three years he had played as a third wheel to Bargnani and Bosh, telling someone to go from third to first within the matter of a lockout shortened season with no training camp or real talk with the coach. Also alot of Derozan’s energy was spent learning to actually play defense and do it much more efficiently then last year. I won’t say Derozan is going to be a bonafide star, but he sure can be and alot of you are underestimating him.

James Harden is mos definitely is winner of this one no doubt about it. EG’s going to be nice too and if Derozans’ game ever comes anywhere near his athleticism he could be a problem for both of them. If they stay in their current situation EG is most likely to when a scoring title unless one of the exceed expectations. No disrespect to anyone but how is Marshon Brooks all of these guys who have never played a single minute in the league on this list and Reke’s not?

Gordon and Harden are pretty clealry # 1 and 2… it’s practically impossible to rate the college guys until you see the situation they end up in.  George is a 3, hence not being on the list.  I like Turner best as a 1, but seem to be in the minority on that.  Of the college guys, I really favor Walters, as Hollinger’s draft rater put me over the top on a guy I was already nearly sold on, though this is the deepest 2 draft in ages.
