gatorheelsParticipantWow….I was expecting them to sign him to a 2 year deal. What are the TWolves doing? Sessions is a good player but in 2 years what is going to happen when Minnesota has Flynn, Sessions, & Rubio? Which one of them will get traded? Who starts this season, Flynn or Sessions? Is Flynn going to like this? A lot of questions need to be answered. Minnesota is getting a lot of talented players but we will have to wait & see how they all fit together.

llperezgood question. I was thinking this same thing on draft night when Kahn said flynn and Rubio could play together. I don’t know how they all fit, but I hope my boys Rambis, Theus, and Laimbeer don’t take too much crap if this doesn’t work.

R-Dot-13Participantthis isnt good for sessions, and flynn.
one of these young point guards growths wil be stalled..0- Posted on: Fri, 09/04/2009 - 7:39am #209853

BadBoysParticipantDoesn’t make sense to me. Give the reins to Flynn and let him learn on the fly. Sessions and Flynn too small to have on the court at the same time.

D HampParticipantNo Syracuse bias, but I’m sure the concensus is that Flynn will start. Sessions will be the backup point guard and Rubio, while he still has a high value, is now tradeable. The GM of the Timberwolves have to save face now. This move in so many ways is their way of admitting that Rubio was a mistake.

sheltwon3ParticipantI have no clue what Minnesota is doing. Also how in the world would Flynn start over Sessions. That one confuses me. It is possibly for them to pay some minutes together because it happened in Milwaukee sometimes with Session at the two. I just dont see that as a permanent move. Minnesota is making some moves that has my head scratching. I knew that Rubio was going to wind up a trade chip though which is cool. But they better make that trade while his stock is high and team will do moves.

doubledribblerParticipant3 Guys that can and are going to want to start. Here is a doomsday scenario for you. They have to trade 2 of the 3 guys. I think some guys can accept being backups and some guys have no choice. I think they have 3 guys that they are going to stunt if none of them are starting and/or having to split time or play at the same time with another point guard on the floor. Depth is nice and all, but they might want to start rounding out their team first. I know if I’m a Minnesota fan that I would be pissed that my team has 8 pgs and 7 pfs.

RUDEBOYTHEUS AND LAIMBEER SHOULD SUIT UP…I BET YA..REGGIE CAN SCORE 20 POINTS AND STILL KEEP HIS PERM LOOKIN GOOD..AND OL LAIMBEER CAN KNOCK SOMEONE ON THEY ASS IF HE SETS A STRONG PICK.. IF HIS PANTS ISN’T SAGGIN TO HIS ANKLES!!!!

McWinningParticipantnot a good idea theyshouldgo after a wing player which is their huge weakness.

doubledribblerParticipantThe funny thing is that if they decide to trade Rubio his value is probably going to be a lot less than what they could have gotten for him if they had drafted and traded him on draft night or even soon afterwards. Teams never seem to be able to get much in value when they trade draft rights to foreign players that end up staying overseas. I think Scola’s rights were traded for some movie tickets and a tub of popcorn….I meant to say some cash and Jackie Butler…Speaking of Butler he looked good that one year he played for Isiah. I really thought he would stick in the league.

JNixonParticipantI think this is stupid. And I also think Flynn will be better than Sessions so why would they go after him? They do need wing players Bird, and I think Kahn is doing to much now with these PG’s. He’s going to delay Flynn’s development and I think Flynn is the future core member of the franchise. Dumb move, and if the Bucks match they would be delaying Jennings’ development. Sessions is just screwing up all the young guys! lol…He should just go to the Knicks and get it over with.

esperanzafleet69Participantthey can likely still both start…. minny has no depth at the 2 gaurd…. also to igudala i dont think flynn would be as good as sessions… sessions per 36 averages are ridiculous… like 16 pts 8 assists 1.5 steals and 1 3pter…. dont expect flynn to get anything near to that… those stats are likely to increase also with development and with the new style of ball rambis is bringin in to minny

D HampParticipantSo much for Sessions being a top 5 point guard in the NBA.

SpencerIsHawesome2ParticipantThey’re not going to trade Rubio now. If they trade him it will be in 2 years. It’s a high risk-high reward move. If he was a top-5 pick now, in two years when he is 20 and better they could get a top-5 pick for him in a deeper draft.

doubledribblerParticipantThey will never get a top pick for him, especially if no one knows if he will come over. Vasquez was suppose to come over. I’m not sure how good he is, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s better than a lot of big guys in the NBA. He’s still not in Orlando and it’s been how many years? Besides until he proves himself against NBA competition, then I think teams will always be split on how much he is worth and how good he actually is.
By the way, I don’t think Flynn will be that good. I see him being maybe the next Bobby Jackson, but I still see this as a dumb move. Also, it would be ridiculous to start Sessions and Flynn together. That backcourt would get dominated. Think of playing the Lakers and Kobe is being guarded by either Sessions or Flynn…even a guy like Iguadala. Things go from bad to worse.

SpencerIsHawesome2Participantuh.. rubio can come over and then they can trade him… did you ever think of that scenario?

marcusfizer21ParticipantOnce again let’s give it up for David Kahn for a crap well done!
0 - Posted on: Sat, 09/05/2009 - 12:20am #210117

marcusfizer21ParticipantI am not a fan of this at all… I think he would have gone to New York (which I hoped) or remain a Buck (which is indifferent on me)… He could have been a terrific upgrade over Duhon with the Knicks and could have a breakout year with the Bucks… (sigh!) David Kahn is at it again… He is pulling off too much hat trick and nothing came out impressive… It’s a tough thing to call since Jonny Flynn is a rookie but a solid one… If Sessions gets more time, he will stall the development of Flynn which could mean that the Wolves wasted not 1 but 2 lottery picks in 2009! Ramon Sessions could have been a good point guard in the East but instead he landed on one of the lowest teams in the West… Good Luck!
