Let me start by saying Greg Monroe is actually my 2nd favorite prospect this year after Evan Turner. And this isn’t a criticism of him as a player. Monroe doesn’t have the athleticism or speed to play the 4 in the NBA on a consistent basis. He may play some at PF, but mostly he will produce at the 5 spot. To play the 4 in the NBA requires an unreal amount of speed, quickness, and agility. KG. Bosh. Josh Smith. Aldridge. The PFs that don’t have that athleticism are exceptional in other ways (example: Nowitzki, Z Randolph). Pau Gasol played the 5 most of his career and still does a lot of work at Center for the Lakers for those who were thinking to bring that up. I see Monroe as a Pau Gasol type at best, and an Andrew Bogut type at worst. All three are will be some of the best passing
Centers of the last 20 years, especially Monroe and the underrated Bogut. Monroe will struggle at first to adjust to the physicality of the position, which I believe will keep him just outside of the ROY race, but once year 2 and 3 rolls around for him, he will be a top 12 center.
    Thoughts?

Yeah Iggy I forgot to put that in my post. If the Nets or someone with an established center drafts him, he will probably play more PF. But the teams that don’t have a hole at center in the lottery is a VERY short list. I can even see Minny hoping for Monroe if they miss out on Wall, Wes, Aminu, or Turner

LOL you’re right the I in win. I will show some balls and say that Monroe will be only behind Howard, Lopez, Bynum, Yao?, Whiteside and M. Gasol.

That i know alot about whiteside buy what i have read he could be amazing. But i like Monroe. Looks like he can put on alot of muscle the way bynum has and i think he would be a chris bosh center. Just less athletic

Good point KevinDurantRocks Monroe has a excellent frame with broad shoulders that will allow him added muscle and strength. All the more reason his team will put him at the 5.
