joe2324Participanthey may not be the rookie of the year as Towns seems to have that locked up, but I’m very impressed with this kid. Everything from his attitude, toughness and shooting is making him must see every knick game. Hes not afraid to get down low in the post and once he adds more weight to his frame, hes going to be hard to stop. Further, he is only 20 so could grow another inch which would make him 7’4 and even more unstopable.

FrankStalloneNo way does Towns have ROY locked up, he’s just in a better situation not playing next to a Melo type.
Porzingis is looking like a DPOY candidate this year too, it’s just that reputation usually takes a year or two to catch up to actual performance.
14 points in the first half tonight too.

HitsterParticipantPorz has looked at home in the NBA all season, the 29 point game against Charlotte was top draw stuff and he is having another great game tonight.
As he develops and wins over the fans and gains the total confidence of his team mates, he’ll blossom even more. The Knicks will need to watch his minutes as he needs to learn how to handle the 82 game season but he is looking a legit start prospect.
He must be in the mix for ROY if he keeps this form up although KAT and the Oak may put up better overall stats.

FrankStalloneHe blocked Harden twice in the last two minutes of a tied game.
It came down to Harden vs Porzingis and Porzingis won.

FrankStalloneSomebody tell me about how he’s still just a prospect. He’s already 90% of the scorer Anthony Davis is, and 3 times the defender. Maybe just twice, for now.
His defense is so dominant he could average 19-20 ppg and still win MVP.

FrankStalloneYeah, so lame mentioning the rookie who just put up 24/14/7 in his 13th NBA game or whatever.
Surely he’s peaked and will revert to his career averages of his first 10 NBA games.
And if he just keeps getting better, we’ll just call it more and more lame to mention him.
Because DRussell is so awesome and was clearly the better prospect, along with Big Al Okafor.

ExumInfernoParticipantClutch Porzingis, last couple of minutes of the game he made some big plays and hit his foul shots.
He is making the Knicks worth watching.
Only 1 foul when blocking 7 shots.
Right now, co-rookie award winners Porzingis and Towns.

SlickBouncePassParticipantthe Sixers are made for this website. Hence the post. I dind’t get much feedback btw. I wanted someone like chewy to drop some knowledge.
I think for the Sixers (hah), you go Simmons and Murray. I still question Murray’s athleticism in the NBA, so I odn’tk now if Murray is a #2 pick worthy. Fortunatley, Skal and Ingram are making that choice a little easier.
Ingram’s shot doesn’t look amazing. I still think his size and length make him too difficult to pass up on before Ingram.
Skal is getting a lot of praise on this site, but he is really soft and needs to get hard. Who is he guarding in the NBA? I think he’ll get muscled up by several bigmen. He’s not quick enough to beat people off the dribble. So no chance I’d take him.
Watching Noel and Okafor play together, it isn’t working. If anything you want your 4 to cut to the bucket or play the high-low game with Okafor. Noel can’t cut to the rim under control, nor does he have the hands to catch and finish strong. I love Noel, but I’d probably trade him to maybe the Hawks and get Schroeder. Noel’s offensive game is moot with Okafor, and he isn’t exactly shutting anyone down on defense. I think the poor guy is lost now that everything goes through Okafor.
So I’d have Schroeder, Murray, Simmons, Oak, Embiid, and Saric off the bench.
I don’t think Saric and 19 can get you Schroeder. What do you all think gets you Schroeder.
Anyway I was hoping people would think outside the box. Maybe say, well if you can’t get Simmons and Murray (the obvious choices), then would you be okay with Ingram and Dunn or Brown and Dunn, instead of saying (a PG – lame)? To me, thats a pretty big dropoff, because both Brown and Dunn have questionable shots. Sixers need shooters around their bigmen.
They need Gary Neal, Mo Williams, Bellinelli…as their veterans to go with what they already have.

FrankStalloneIf the 76ers drafted Porzingis they’d have a guy who can spread the floor for Noel, Embiid, Saric, and Ben Simmons. Of course, they’d have no chance of drafting Ben Simmons. Not that it’d matter.

whiteflashParticipantOne of the more impressive things to me about this kid is his poise and confidence. He doesn’t get rattled. There was a play late in the game wher Jones took him in the post, turned and straight forearm shoved him in the gut to create space, and instead of bitching or flopping he immediately got back and contested the shot. He was everywhere last night and there was nothing the Rockets could do about it. I knew he’d be good, but thought it’d take a bit longer. It is a long season and everyone hits "The Wall", but I think as of now he’s the frontrunner for ROY. Kid can REALLY play.

FrankStalloneHe can switch on to Harden or Lawson or just about any player in the NBA this side of Westbrook and Wall. After KP stuffed Harden twice in the last two minutes, Harden stopped trying to score and just passed it off, even with the game hanging in the balance.
The basketball world was drooling over WCStein last spring/summer because of his ability to guard 1-5, but KP does that even better and the basketball world is pretty slow to pick up on it. Porzingis didn’t block a ton of shots or get a ton of steals before last night, but that’s because he plays extremely disciplined defense, doesn’t gamble, and doesn’t chase the high risk steal or block like Anthony Davis and James Harden do.
So the guy’s been playing DPOY candidate level defense all year but people who don’t watch the games just assume his defense is nothing special. One kid here even called him just a good defensive rebounder, lol.
A guy who can play defense like Porzingis is worth as much as a 20-25 ppg scorer. Porzingis is more valuable than Melo already. Playing that kind of defense while also scoring and stretching the floor just puts him into MVP level value, even if he doesn’t win the Fantasy Basketball mvp or whatever dumb sh!t people use to evaluate talent.
In his last 3 games he’s scored 29 points and 24 points, but people here want to ban even mentioning his name, or mentioning him in the same breath as Anthony Davis.
If Davis played this level defense he’d be the MVP, and his team would have more than one win.

HitsterParticipantEmbliid when he was draining 3’s in practice last year looked as if he could spread the floor how Porzingis has been able to.
Porz is in a pressurised situation playing at MSG but he is learning the triangle from day one, has guys like Fisher, Phil Jackson around him who have done it all in the NBA. I’m sure that Melo is loving playing with Porz as he has someone who can carry his workload and who could help him stay relevant for much longer. So I’m sure that Melo would be bigging up Porz as much as he can and passing on all his knowhow.
