imagine they picked dourant instead of oden. broy and durant would be dynasty oden had bunch of talent but cant stay on the floor even when hes healthy hes in foul trouble when might be it the right time to call him a bust ?

True but a team can never know what to expect when they draft someone. Big risk taking.

I’m sure almost all the teams would’ve drafted Oden at that time.

I’m almost 100% positive every team would’ve drafted Oden at the time. As a huge fan, I’m upset injuries have hurt his career. I still think he has a chance to be a very good player, but he’s had two serious knee injuries and missed a lot of playing time… If he hasn’t gotten healthy and started to produce on a consistent basis by the time his rookie contract is up… I think he can be classified as a bust due to injuries.

Is this supposed to be new? Obviously it’s easy to say this. But at the time Oden was the pick. KD is a fantastic player and is one of the best in the league already. Nobody could have predicted the injuries Oden has gotten.

I still have faith in Oden, but I gotta admit…I don’t have that much faith.

I still don’t understand why they didn’t take KD. I mean oden was good but not like he had Ewing like offensive moves while you knew Durant was going to be a star just from watching him at Texas. Prolly the 2nd best college player I have seen behind Melo.

i dont see how they didnt pick kd. even before they played i was saying kd is the pick. i figured oden would be good but i knew kd was just on a different level. shows once again gms arent genius when it comes to picking players. i do recall they did a poll and there were a couple teams saying go with durant

They new durant was gonna be great, but it is hard to draft Durant after Brandon Roy won the rookie of the year.

I don’t get it rudeboy…so imagine if oden was dropping 30 a night? So than imagine if darko was a 25-12, imagine if Dwight could hit free throws, imagine if Grant Hill didn’t have a bum ankle…I can imagine all those things, but that doesn’t make them true or realistic…

Let me put it this way!! If Oden had never gotten injured… If he was averaging say 20 points & 11 rebounds this season..Portland might be challenging Cleveland and the Lakers for the best record in the NBA..He’ll be mentioned as 1 of the best players of All Time.. Durant has played this year..no one has mentioned him as 1 of the best ever..Even though he’s 1 of the top 5 players in the league right now.Becuz Oden’s dominance is different than Durant’s dominance…Portland looked at all of this ..thats why they picked Oden..Look back to just a couple years ago when Kobe & Shaq were leading the Lakers to titles..Even though Kobe was an allstar..And 1 of the 3 best players in the nba..It was Shaq who was winning Finals Mvps…Becuz his dominance was different from Kobe’s dominance..I’m not saying big men are better..No way am i saying that..Becuz Magic was the dominant player, not Kareem when the Lakers were winning in the 80’s….And Jordan was so dominant during the era of some great big men..Like Olajuwon,Shaq,Ewing & Robinson..

DURANT IS GOING TO BE BEST PLAYER ONE DAY , AND ODEN EVEN IF HE GETS HEALTHY(BIG IF) CANT NEVER HAVE CAREER LIKE DURANT, HE IS 21 AND HE SCORES 30 PPG… ODEN DIDNT PLAYED ONE FULL SEASON …
