The Scare Crow RisesParticipantWho says no to this deadline deal?
Ainge looking for a Superstar at deadline, Doc looking for depth 1-5 and a shutdown defender for the Warriors…

DrivingDownTheStreetinmy64STop It with these Griffin trades!!!!!!!

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantBut I was asking for actual input on the Poll Question…
Would you trade Blake Griffin for a package of Marcus Smart, Jae Crowder, Kelly Olynyk and a Top 5 pick via Brooklyn…
Or would you hang up on Ainge?
IF you were Danny Ainge and the Clippers offered you Blake Griffin for Smart/Crowder/Olynyk and the Brooklyn pick, would you accept their offer or walk away from landing a Star at the deadline?
All of this is in the air already and a move up Danny and Doc’s alley…
What would YOU do?

ZachAttack SuxParticipantI would do it if i was the clippers, cuz those are young guys that can play, and they still have a lot of potential. But if i was the Celtics, i woulnt touch Griffin. the reason behind this, is cuz then you have a team of thomas, and griffin. and thats it. but right now, then you have a lot of players, and peicese that you would go really good together. So if i was the clippers, then, yes, i would do it.

RUDEBOY_Participanti think scarecrow’s just asking our thoughts on his trade proposal.
i dont the clippers will trade him.just becuz a team might have a better record without him in the short run.
doesnt mean they’ll be able to maintain it long term.especially doing the playoffs.not only is blake a great scorer and rebounder.he’s also their 2nd best playmaker.and the owner loves him.

publius2481ParticipantThe Clippers are in win now mode, so the Brooklyn pick is less appealing than it would be to other teams. Smart is still developing (although already a good defender), so I doubt they want him. Crowder would fill a need and Olynyk is a nice piece, but overall this does not help the Clippers enough.
For Boston, I think that is giving up too much. Crowder is the key to their defense and Olynyk is really helping their offense. Giving up one of them and the Brooklyn pick (plus another player or maybe another pick) I think they would do, but giving up both Crowder, Olynyk, nd the Brooklyn pick is too much.

sweaterflexParticipantI think Crowder, Olynyk and the Nets 1st rounder would be the perfect balance, I don’t think Boston would throw Smart in there (although GMs still remember Ainge offering four (!) firsts for Justice Winslow. This trade gives the Clips ideal balance of floor-spacing and defense (if a little deficient in play-making) and the Celts would finally get some offensive punch (and can quit relying on Evan Turner). The only offer I like better that the Clips could explore is Blake for Bosh and Winslow.

GreekballinI think this is a bad trade for both teams.. If the Clips are indeed in win now mode, they need to keep Griffin and look for a good wing to can fill in their 3 spot.. Keep in mind the 2 game they played against the warriors were pretty close with Griffin in the lineup.. They just really need a good SF IMO

CU.LIONSParticipantAs a Boston fan, I just don’t want to give up the Nets pick this year. I have a real good feeling we will be getting the top pick. I also don’t see LA giving up Blake since they are in win now mode.

Meditated StatesParticipantBe dumb to give up that pick and they are not likely to dk that at all. Bad trade would hurt the Celtics because Celtics care more for depth than star. They are in position to improve from last year wich is great progress over the last 3 years. Take the pick or wait until draft to deal. There is nothing of worth happening this season. Team is improving every year. There is no rush.

DolanCareParticipantBradley, Crowder, Lee for cap reasons and the Brooklyn pick is a solid haul for the Clippers. They get a future asset and players that can help them now.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantClippers would be foolish to say no to this deal. Even though they are giving up the best player in the deal the assets they are getting back would make their roster deeper and more balanced. Crowder has emerged this season as one of the better two players in the league, smart has the potential to be one of the elite perimeter defenders in the league, and olynk would fit well with their roster and provide them with a legitimate floor spacing big that they sorely lack right now. They get better offensively and defensively and get a likely top 5 pick in this draft. That would be tough to turn down.
Don’t see Boston giving up that much for griffin though.

Bad DogParticipantClippers say no to this deal. Easily. Say what you will about Blake as a player but the guy is a big star and his impact on the team goes beyond their record. He puts butts in the seats and just his presence on the roster adds significant revenue to the Clippers. The only way I can see Blake getting dealt is if the Clippers get a haul similar to what the Wolves received for Kevin Love. So basically, the first overall pick in the draft plus other assets. If I’m the Clippers, I wouldn’t take anything less. This may seem like asking a lot for him but he’s guaranteed money in the bank for whoever gets him.

HitsterParticipantK-Love was worth the 2014 first round top pick when he had only a year left on his deal. I don’t really count Anthony Bennett as an asset in that deal as he was sadly seen as a bust.
The Clippers would want some good assets from Boston if they are taking a chance on having a possible top 3 pick which could slide down a few places. The difference to taking Simmons or Ingram to Dunn or Rabb could be quite a lot.
There is a chance that Griffin will be moved and a few months to post season won’t really affect his trade value. Then teams will know where they are picking in the lottery and teams will have cap space so there would be a lot more suitors for Griffin then so Doc could almost hold a bidding war if he wanted to get best value for the Clippers.

Meditated StatesParticipantAnd solid players for Blake. Naw you clearly wait until you know draft position before you make a (get fired) move like that.

trelos6ParticipantGriffin for Bradley, Crowder, Olynyk and Nets Pick.
I’d do that trade on both sides.
Bradley brings a more complete game than Smart for a ready to win Clips. Olynyk over any other big as he can stretch the floor.
As a Celtics fan, I’d love to throw Amir Johnson, Sullinger or David Lee in, but this deal is dead without Olynyk and Crowder.
DO IT Clips and Celts

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantI just wanted to gage peoples opinion on an offer like this…
I can see the trade would have to be restructured…
Blake Griffin and Lance Stephanson for Avery Bradley, Kelly Olynyk, Evan Turner, David Lee and the Brooklyn pick
This way the Celts get to keep Smart and Crowder while also letting go of Lee and Turner, Lance gets another chance to impact a team like he did in Indiana, Brad Stevens could do wonders for Lance’s confidence, The Clippers still land a Top 5 pick plus Bradley and Turner’s defense and Olynyk and Lee for depth down low, both would play well with Deandre Jordan and CP3, Lee would only late in the 4th when teas would try to hack a Jordan…
Celtics core going forward would be
Griffin, Thomas, Smart and company, with plenty of cap and draft picks to add depth this summer(Whiteside would compliment Blake and is out there this year) Bradley and Turner being gone gives James Young and Terry Rozier a chance to step up…Lance could be a solid piece or an X factor

Hype MachineI kinda feel sad for T-rex and his inability to stay un-banned lol
I doubt anyone likes using the forum more than him, and he is kinda knowledgable and funny in an antagonistic way.
Its just too bad hes got some weird superiority complex or something that prevents him from valueing other peoples opinions as much as his own…otherwise he could add a lot.
Hopefully he’s reading…and next time he signs up with a new account he decides to give peace a chance.
