The California Highway Patrol released a video of Kings guard Tyreke Evans driving excess of 125 miles on May 31st..On monday a judge issued Evans a 30 day ban from driving..As part of his sentence for Reckless driving..A California Patrol officer said he spotted Evans Mercedes racing a silver Dodge Challenger going at 130 miles per hour..Evans was handcuffed issued a citation then released..

EDIT NOTE: How many times do Celebs get away with things?

Driving 130 miles on a highway can be deadly..
I wonder has Evans heard the story of former NBA players David Wesley & Bobby Phills racing ..Their Stupidity lead to Phills deadly Crash…

I read somewhere after that happened that Petrie sat down with Evans and had a nice long chat about just how stupid that was. I think they also put him on three years informational probation and he has to speak at an event about the issue.

I don’t understand why these athletes keep taking such stupid risks at critical points in their career. They have only around 10 years to make their millions, so all they have to do is focus for a few years, and then they’ll have enough money to live it up for the rest of their lives (including the more risky stuff, both legally and physically). It’s not like they have to be monks during those 10 years, since there’s plenty of low risk fun their celebrity and money can bring them (such as sex!).

Wasn’t Derrick Rose also caught speeding over 100 mph after his rookie season?

It depends on which state you’re in. Some states could give you a week-10 days jail time. Some states could just suspend your license. Every state you will get some sort of hefty fine. Not really sure about Cali (I’m assuming that’s where Reke is)

Sacramento cops seem fucking retarded, they followed the guy for 8 minutes before catching him in some parking lot. Main point of cops catching people speeding is to prevent danger, they just watch him go 125 for 8 minutes.

These ‘kids’, well they are still kids are just being young and stubborn, it’s nothing new. They just get publicized so much more nowadays. He’s young, has tons of money and wants to be flashy, of course it’s stupid and dangerous, but they think little about consequences…even in the situations they are in as being NBA players…you gotta grow up at some point, sometimes it takes looking like an idiot to figure that out…

The coaching staff is paid the big bucks to be professional advisors, so there’s no reason they can’t warn off young players from the obvious, common pitfalls…and to help them understand the nature of just how fragile and short their window of opportunity is.

Honestly, the cops can’t really do too much about it at that point. Do you expect the cops to catch a car going 125+ mph? If the cops got involved at that point, it would only cause more danger for the innocent bystanders.

They most likely do warn them, but it’s not under their control as to whether the players listen.

Since Cousins does not have his drivers license he and Tyreke could get a tandem bike to get to practice…
