Z-LegendParticipantSorry if this has been posted already on here somewhere, but I found a report today that says that the Sixers are very intrigued by this guy and have already invited him to give a private workout. I don’t know, but does anyone think he will be a good fit in the back with MCW ? While he’s not worth taking at 10, is he worth trading to around the late teens or 20’s to get ? Also, a lot of people may have compared him to James Harden, I don’t think he’s a James Harden comp. Who does he comp to for you ? Just wanna get an idea from fellow Sixers fan.

delco610ParticipantI actually like PJ and think he would be a good fit for the Sixers but maybe more so coming off the bench initally. I would definitely look into trading back into the mid twenties with an OKC or Phoenix to grab him. I think as far as player comparison maybe a better shooting version of Lance Stephenson.

hbomb3300ParticipantI think he would be a great fit for the Thunder. I’ve seen a lot of different projections for his draft position from 16 to 2nd round. Only way I see them trading down for a shooter is if Stauskas is already gone when they pick at 10.

AstroParticipantMCW is thin and not a great 3 pt shooter, Hairston is a thick SG with 3 pt. range.

Lotto StudParticipantI know the sh*t storm will circulate after this but I see Hairston similar to Martell Webster when he was considered a top dog.

Magic JordanParticipantI am sure I will get negged to hell by 76er fans who think I am somehow bashing MCW or their team but that is not my intent. I think PJ Hairston is going to be a solid player, but a young team like the 76ers has to take personalities into account. It has been proven that PJ has character issues, and sure he has acted right for the better part of his stint in the D League and in his interviews leading up to the draft, but anybody who has ever been in an interview knows that you will say anything you have to to get that job. A guaranteed NBA contract could easily send this kid back to his old ways. I wouldn’t want to pair him with MCW because he is also rumored to have a checkered past. MCW proved he is past that but if you pair him with another knucklehead they could bring out the worst in each other.
The draft isn’t only about drafting the most talented players, it’s also about establishing a culture, one in which your young guys can grow together in a positive manner and I am of the firm belief that if you tamper with it to much, or test your luck it will backfire. I will stick with high quality character guys like Stauskas or Gary Harris. Continuity of a team will often get you further, and get you there faster than just pure young talent.

AstroParticipant…I just think breaking NCAA rules doesn’t constitute a lack of moral fiber and is not an indication of a kind of teammate and player he is going to be in the pros. They are freaking NCAA (not God’s) rules after all – the only crime is getting caught.

Magic JordanParticipantMarijuana charge while driving without a liscense. Being caught not once, but twice driving rental cars in the name of a convicted felon due to drug convictions multiple times. And finding an unregistered 9mm weapon aren’t exactly breaking the NCAA rules? You’re right, he’s not breaking God’s laws, but "Gods" laws are pretty vague… he is breaking man made laws, federal and state issued AND breaking NCAA’s laws to add to the trifecta.
Again, he very well could have moved past those things and I am not the type to believe someone should pay the price forever for their past transgressions, I just think for a young team like Philly I would avoid him. He needs to go to a team with a solid veteran foundation.

DolanCareParticipantYou’re probably right. UNC gave him a chances and he spurned them, and the NBA can’t protect players like a college program can. I would be concerned to take him if I was Philly for all the reasons you mentioned.
I have PJ falling to OKC, which is probably wishful thinking since he would be perfect for that team. KD and Russ would demolish him in practices if he started to fall off the wagon again.

BallinmvpParticipantPJ has the talent of a lotto pick, I think he is going to be a monster if goes to the right place. I think his max potential is very high.

ballislife33ParticipantHe’s going to be able to score at the next level, theres no debating that. The question will be if he’s gonna give you anything defensivly. I think his offensive skillset outweighs his defensive liabilities. Would be nice as a 6th man off the bench, I think he could be better than Waiters

laxmisonParticipantHe would have been 1st team all american and prob a top ten pick if he played this year, His biggest prob were ball handling and mid range , didn’t get to see if he developed it yet. I think hes a bigger better verison of Marcus Thorton. Potential is there just have to see how his game has developed.

iguapops420ParticipantThicker, more athletic Jodie Meeks IMO. Get buckets and defend. Still has potential, but his immaturity is going to scare teams away. I doubt he falls past okc, but if he does, I don’t see him slipping past the Spurs.
