fj84utu389tu5ParticipantIf youre the Houston Rockets, would you consider a deal of your #14 and #23 picks for the Detroit Pistons #8 pick. The reason I say that is……
1) The Rockets could either go for a center of the future to possibly replace Yao Ming like Jonas Valanciunas, or they could fill a void at small forward left by Shane Battier by drafting Kawhi Leonard, Marcus Morris, or Jan Vesely(note: all four of those draftees I named could easily be gone by the time the Rockets pick at #14)
2) (Follow me here): Pistons GM Joe Dumars may look at this draft and say: "Hey, I’m not seeing anyone at #8 who can really help us like we need, so I’ll trade down and get not one but TWO young prospects that will at least be DECENT players for our team to (under his voice) help salvage my reputation. This way, if these players arent superstars, I don’t look as bad seeing as they were picked in the MID-first round." This way, for example, Detroit could still draft a quality big who could play along side Greg Monroe like a Markieff Morris, Tristan Thompson, or Bismack Biyombo(who, ironically, I’ve seen pop up at #8 on some mock drafts, but I’ve seen slip as low as #16 on some mocks as well). And then, at #23, they could go 2 different directions(this excludes their two 2nd round choices of course). They could go with a combo gaurd like Darius Morris if they decide to let restricted free agent Rodney Stuckey go, or they could maybe take a long athletic small forward to help replace unrestricted free agent Tayshaun Prince like Tyler Honeycutt(who, if you look at his nbadraft.net bio, is compared to……….you guessed it: Tayshaun Prince).
Hope this all makes sense. Also, PLEASE NOTE: I’ve heard enough "Pistons have bad contracts!!", "Villanueva sucks!!", "Rip sucks!!", "Gordon sucks!!", to last me the next lifetime. Bottom line is I know that my Pistons are a mess. But remember this does NOT include any of the bad contracts we have. So with that said……
What do you guys think? Houston, care to consider this??
(P.S. Yes I do have a life lol)

JustinPersellParticipantI believe this would be a smart trade for the pistions to make although I dont see it happening. With the 14th pick a player like Marcus Morris if he is still there would be a great fit to go with Greg Monroe. Both have good offensive games and would flourish next to eachother. with the 23rd pick I would go with another big maybe even Markieff Morris if he slips that low. Maybe with the 14th pick actually take Kieff Morris he is a better defender and rebounder that his brother. Tristen Thompson would be a good pick at 14 as well but is a project and raw offensivly. The pistions dont need any projects they need to get players that can help today and the twins outta KU and somebody like Tyler Honeycutt outta UCLA or Chris Singleton outta FSU maybe even Marshon Brooks whom has good size and good play the 3.

PlatypusParticipantno this draft is way to weak and we have the chance to finally get a starting center, i wouldnt risk it.

Malik-UniversalParticipantf*ck that… if detroit is smart they keep the 8 pick and potentially get a big man
we dont need jimmer or the morris twins
WE NEED SIZE not a 6’9” player with short arms

gmforhireParticipantI might be willing to make that trade if the Roctets threw in Jordan Hill. Hill and Monroe would give the pistons a legit front court. I would use the two picks for a true point and a denfensive small forward who can shoot off the double.
