Unpopular opinion, but I feel like he should be late first round not mid 2nd round. I get that he’s a 22 year old senior and there’s already a pretty high bar for NBA point guards. However, every time I watched him, he just seemed so much more mature and composed than anyone else on the floor. He averaged 20.5-5.5-4.3 with efficient shooting and ball control numbers. His only weaknesses seemed to be physical…size, strength, speed, generating contact at the rim. Other than height of course, these can be worked on easily with the help of NBA caliber trainers. Is his projection as simple as “he’s 22”?

For qualitative reference, in the two games against lottery pick nico mannion, pritchard dominated mannion. Two very close games between ranked teams, pritchard just seemed to outplay mannion at every point. In the first game, pritchard had 18-6-7 while mannion had 20-3-3, and the second game pritchard had 38-4-6 while mannion had 13-8-4. I know that draft stock is not just the numbers, and its possible that pritchard could just be another senior statistical monster turned into borderline role player ie. Frank Mason, who had nearly identical stats and measurables.

This is not meant to come off as facetious or sarcastic, but please enlighten me on why Pritchard is projected where he is.

I have seen Pritchard projected mid 2nd to late 2nd as well. I don’t know if he would be the steal of the draft, but I think he is alot like Jalen Brunson who has been productive in his first two years. and def. could go in late 1st. I think his lack of athleticism and “upside” because of his age is what is limiting his draft stock. Evaluators have concerns about him being a defensive liability, but even if he is a poor defender I think he can contribute enough by running an offense and being able to hit the outside shot enough to make up for that. Plus he is tough and plays hard. He def. should be able to carve out a role/niche with an NBA team.

I don’t think he is a first but I definitely think he will hang around for a while. I think he could be a good undrafted player or a steal second but it honestly depends where he goes in the draft too.

I think CJ Elleby (Washington State) will be the steal of the draft…

Pritchards a dog. Hes gonna be a great NBA pro. Another Oregon (State actually) guy I think will be underrated due to his age is Tres Trinkle.

Honestly, he’s a 1st round talent regardless of age and a aspiring playoff team especially in the late 1st should take him.

He’s not the best passer, dribbles way too much, doesn’t have court vision. Take into account he’s Dana Altman’s pet favorite for 4 years, without it he wouldn’t have the same reputation . In my opinion he’ll be similar to TJ McConnell at best.

TJ McConnell is a baller! Thats not a bad comparison actually I like it. Seen alot of Pacers games where McConnell’s energy was the only thing they had going and sometimes snapped them out of a funk andd I think Pritchard has alot of that. But I think Pritchard’s better. He’s noticeably bigger despite TJ being listed 6’1 and Pritchard 6’2 and he’s a much better shooter and scorer. TJ can’t shoot and it ruins his whole game because he wants to finish at the rim.

I’d take a 22 year old TJ McConnell with better jumpshot and more size in the 1st round with no hesitation.
