NashyMingParticipantSo either Paul is convinced that Demps will do something to upgrade the roster or Paul finally realizes he really has no leverage and can potentially be sent to Minnesota, now Paul has decided to shut his mouth and stay with the Hornets.
I think if Demps would do anything to improve the roster, it would come with a trade of Collison and potentially dumping Okafor’s contract on the way.

WrecklessParticipantFor some reason I still dont think its done yet.
What could New Orleans possibly pull off to have them contending?

kerry kittlesParticipantBut does this really mean he wants to stay? I think one of three things happened in the meeting
1. He still wants to leave, but is saying he wants to stay to avoid a fine and this will increase new orleans leverage because teams won’t think they have to get rid of him.
2. They told CP3 that we will take the best offer which means you can be playing for the clippers next year or some undesirable team. This scared CP3 into wanting to stay.
3. He wanted to stay the whole time, but this whole thing was blown out of proportion by world wide wes, maverick carter, the rest of the lebron camp and the media.0

not to toot my own horn or anything, but i did make a thread about how the nets could make a great offer for cp3 and the hornets are entertaining that idea. i also said 3 posts up to not take that initial report too seriously.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantThe Nets are not getting Chris Paul.
I think the Hornets and Paul are keeping it quiet but I wouldn’t be shocked if there talking Chris Paul deals under the table.

kerry kittlesParticipantdirect quote from the article: “Meanwhile, the Hornets have been looking at the Magic, Bobcats and Nets as potential trade partners.”
The Nets definitely have more pieces than the Magic and I’d say they have more than the Bobcats, but thats close. Who do think is getting Paul then? The Nets have a better shot than the Knicks.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantThe Nets are not getting Chris Paul. I don’t see it happening. I think he’s either remaining a Hornet or going to Portland.
