When 2nd year point guard Patty Mills showed up at the Blazers training camp,it caught almost everyone by surprise…Becuz most people were expecting him to sign with a team overseas and he’ll be the Blazers 16 player on a 15 man roster..The Blazers already have 3 point guards and don’t have room for 4..Mills did confirm reports that he had received offers internationally..But said his first priority is to remain in the NBA..Mills said if he doesn’t make the Blazers he has a Plan B..But he’s going through the whole Plan A first…Mills said earlier this summer he received offers from several NBA teams..He’s hoping those teams are still interested..But hopes to make the Blazers roster becuz that’s where he started his career…

I think the Portland should look into signing him..becuz Bayless isn’t a pure point guard and Armon Johnson isn’t ready to contribute right now..Mills might be better at guarding guys like Aaron Brooks & Stephen Curry than Johnson…

Thats weird becaue Aaron Brookes and Steph Curry are of different stature and play a different style of basketball.

But either way this story made me feel guard.  I’m almost rooting for him to not only make the roster but play so well he wins the starting PG spot prompting ESPN The Mag to write an article on him entitled PLAN Austalian

But realistically Bayless is better then him and may even be more athletic. And Armon Johnson is long, quick, strong, and a good defender not to mention passer.  So I don’t really see how Mills could make this team.

I’d keep Mills over Johnson honestly, even though the Blazers probably won’t. Johnson isn’t that good and I doubt he’ll ever be, he’s just got good physical ability. Mills reminds me of a poor mans Tony Parker. I think he can be a good backup PG in the NBA if given a chance. He’s got strong slashing ability and he’s also a decent shooter

I love Armon and he works his butt off…but Mills is the better choice for Portland. I wish nothing but good for Armon though

I think Armon Johnson will get the nod over Patty Mills, he has more long term potential than Mills seeing u could also use him as 2 in a small lineup becuz of his soze and strenghth. If i remember Johnson had a better summer league showing then Luke Babbitt

McMillian isn’t a big fan of Mills. Johnson fits more into the style that McMillian wants to play.

I think they’ll regret not keeping Mills though. He reminds me of Tony Parker as well.

McMillian hand pick Johnson to be his developmental PG of the future so I doubt he goes anywhere.
