Now it’s official, he’s going to play for the rest of the season with the Mavs’ affiliate team. I hope he can still change scouts’ minds with his performances, I hate it when first round talents throw away their careers messing things up off the court.

I don’t know what the dude actually did or didn’t do, but he was guilty in the court of public opinion as soon as this whole shebang started.  I used to absolutely love college basketball, but realizing just how much of a business it is it makes me happy that people get in and get out.  Screw your second year of college if you can get to the lotto (not that Hairston could, just saying).  These kids DO NOT deserve to be held to an impossibly high standard.  A solid percentage of college aged males have some sort of run in with the law, that’s a fact regardless of athletic prowess, wealth or demographics.  Roy Williams doesn’t have the best track record of producing great pros anyway, so hopefully now his talent will be his destiny.

How are the current standards impossibly high? I understand that people make mistakes, but he had multiple incidents with the law. He was arrested for driving without a license and possesion of Marijuana, and also got pulled over going over 90 mph in a 65. Both of those were this past summer. He was also under investigation by the NCAA, for what i can’t remember.  It sucks for him, but the standards are not impossibl

I actually thought Reggie Bullock was the more talented of the two (between him and PJ). That said, if he can prove he’s got his act together, grew up a bit, I don’t see why he wouldn’t at the very least make a summer league squad. If he tears the league the hell up, he could end up a second rounder at best in this draft
