JNixonParticipantThis game has been unbelievably good!!! It’s Jeremy Hazell (Seton Hall) vs. Dominque Jones (South Florida). Both have 28 pts, Hazell on 9-20 from the field (5-13 on 3’s, 5-6 from the line) and Jones on 9-16 from the field (0-2 from 3, 10-11 from the line). They have been going back and forth with each other. I think Jones can definitely be a quality starter in the NBA, and Hazell can be an instant offense bench player. This was one of the most entertaining games this season, it was played at an All-Star game pace…

R-Dot-13ParticipantI really like Dominique Jones as an NBA prospect.
I think if he can get his team to the tourney and go far, he can really work his way to being a mid first round pick- late lottery.Jeremy Hazell should be a 2nd rounder, but I think he can be an instant offense guy like you said

wuteverParticipantlol when i read the topic I thought you were implying about the UVA vrs Vtech game, which was very good ending in OT. Landesberg vrs Delaney two very serious scorers in their own right.

gatorheelsParticipantSouth Florida won’t be in the NCAA tourney. Seton Hall won’t be in the tourney either. Both teams are going to have to win the Big East tournament to make the NCAA tourney. I don’t see either team winning the Big East tourney so…
Hazell is purely just a scorer, he really doesn’t do anything else. He takes a lot of bad shots. In reality he isn’t really a good shooter. He is skinny & his defense is poor. I doubt he will get drafted. Might be a 2nd rounder in 2011. Hazell isn’t an efficient player.
Between the two (Jones & Hazell)..Jones is the better prospect because he is the better athlete, more physical, & a better defender. Jones just has simply a much better all around game.

JNixonParticipantI agree Gatorheels. I don’t like some of the shots he takes. He’s a streaky shooter, but when he gets hot he’s very hard to stop. He really doesn’t provide much else though, so that could hurt him. He seems like the type to go to the D-League and light up scoreboards and try to catch on in the NBA from there..
I think Jones can be a Randy Foye type. He’s very strong and can get to the rim. He’ll need to expand the range on his shot, but I think he can be a starter in the NBA. He’s that good and he plays very hard.

gatorheelsParticipantOne on one Jones is pretty good at creating his own shot. He can drive to the lane or pull up for that midrange jumpshot. He gets good lift on his jumper so he can easily shoot over most guards. Plus he can create separation because of his physical build.
Towards the end of the game Hazell just let Howard drive right past him for a layup.
Pope is a rebounding machine but his offense is lacking. Plus he shoots 43% from the free throw line. Doesn’t appear to be a great athlete either. Maybe a 2nd round pick eventually.
Seton Hall as a team isn’t near as good I expected them to be before the season started. I expected Keon Lawrence & Herb Pope to be better or at least have a bigger impact. I don’t know maybe Seton Hall’s coach just isn’t that good? I thought they would win this game.

JNixonParticipantSeton Hall has come back to life, back to reality….They don’t defend well enough. I thought Eugene Harvey would step up and live up to him potential, but he’s regressed since his FR. year. Now Theodore is their most effective PG. There’s no way a team with this much talent shouldn’t be in the tourny..It comes back to Coach Gonzales…
