aamir543ParticipantWhat is the order of the five best players in the league right now in your opinion.
1. DWade
2. Lebron
3. Dirk
4. Kevin Durant
5. Derrick Rose
I have Lebron at number two because of all the talent he has, although he wasted all of it during the finals. I seriously considered leaving Lebron out, but if there was a pickup game and if i lost i would die, I would chose Lebron because of what he could do. Then D wade at one, because of all the things Lebron leaves on the table, he now takes this tittle, however, now that Lebron doesn’t feel the need to utilize his strenth, size, speed, athleticism, along with his god given talent, I feel that there are several people that could take the tittle of best in the world. I felt bad keeping Kobe out of it, but he would be number 6. I jsut feel that Durant and Rose get better with each game, and unfortunatly kobe is on the decline, but I still feel he will get around 23 or 24 points a game.

HotSnotParticipant"best player" is too vague of a label. Best all around talent? Best scorer? Most valuable to a team?

RUDEBOY_ParticipantI Cant believe the bandwagoners last year after team USA won the medal..Everyone was saying Durant was the best in the league..Now they’re riding Dirk saying he’s the league’s best…Both Durant & Dirk are top 6…But neither are number 1….

BBall4life88ParticipantAll i know is Dirk is King right now….LeBron is Prince

GottaBeTheShoesParticipantuhh you forgot Dwight Howard… He is probably #1 in my book. He is the most dominant player in the league right now and is younger than 3 of the 5 people on this list… Towards the end of the year he was such a dominant player as a scorer and a rebounder and was amazing to watch.. In the playoffs he looked like he was the only player and his team and still put on a show with like 46 and 17 game and most of them over 30.. He is more dominant than anyone on this list and if he just had the help of 1 more superstar or a good all around team it would be more noticable how good he really is.
more like…
1. Dwight Howard
2. Dwade
3. Dirk
4. Lebron
5. Derrick Rose

rileymcshea3Participantyes best list is by the nextnaterobinson but i would take D-Rose over Lebron
Sorry Durant fans but Westbrook is taking Durants chances of being the best player in the league . I still think Durant has alot of improvements to make .I see his rebound numbers going up a little bit next year and he will probably start working out more getting stronger and develop a good post game and make him nearly unstoppable but not yet Durant not yet…….

aamir543Participantoh my god! My bad NateRobinson, I have no clue how I forgot. Yes, the way he performed in the Atlanta sieres, he deserves consideraion for no.1. But remember, there is verylittle competition at the center spot.

GottaBeTheShoesParticipant@Rileymcshea3 Yeah thanks for correcting me.. I would too. But you got too remember in a 1 on 1 matchup basically in the playoffs.. Lebron beat him. But yes i would take Derrick over him too.

jrollParticipant1- Lebron- A bad series doesn’t drop him just yet.
2- Rose- Keeps getting better.
3- Howard- As physically dominate as you can get.
4-DWade- Great but if he was that great he would have won the series like Lebron was supposed to
5- Kobe- Just barely, probably out of top five by midseason
Dirk was right there but he is extremely one dimensional and his teamed used that to perfection in the playoffs
Durant also too one dimensional but his team doesnt showcase him like they should.
Chris Paul almost cracked it too because when healthy is the best true point guard in NBA

R-Dot-13ParticipantDWade

bigdaddybluesmanParticipantI think lists are kind of ridiculous in that nobody is that much better then another player. It has so much to do with the system, his teammates and how good they are, the coach and so many other factors.
If you list the top 5 I would say they are pretty much equal and you just can’t say this guy is better than that guy. Yes LeBron probably is the best player but he chokes so that takes him down to everybody else’s level. If LeBron played up to his potential in BIG games he would be #1 period but he hasn’t, yet.
If you want to make a list it should be who is an A player or A+ player, who is a B or B+ or B-, that would make more sense. Grouping players into specific groups by their play. But comparing them to each other is kind of silly.
Give me a group of A+ players, a group of A players and A- players. That would make more sense in terms of the reality of how you would judge a players ability and performance. Head to head lists, nonsense. If that’s the case then by all means Dirk is #1, best player in the NBA, but we all know he’s not and that’s why those types of lists are kind of a little silly. Like comparing players from different era’s, that’s even sillier.

Malik-UniversalParticipanti dont think right now there is a clear cut best player in the nba
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/18/2011 - 7:30pm #546956
GottaBeTheShoesParticipantI agree with universal.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/18/2011 - 7:32pm #546957

MysterionParticipantLeBron James is the best basketball player in the NBA today, stop putting so much stock into one series.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/18/2011 - 7:53pm #546966

mwalling2117Participant1. Lebron
2. D Rose
3. Nowitzki
4. Howard
5. Kobe
Relistically their is a top 7 (including Durant and Wade). So its a legit list if any combination of 5 of them are used.

xavier328Participant@RUDEBOY……bandwagoners…lol… but its difinitely true…. fans easily forget and jump on the next guy or team.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/18/2011 - 8:34pm #546975

651TwolvesParticipanti cant believe some people think dirk is a better player than lebron…dirks a better scorer, but what else can he do…nothing. he often sat out during the last 2 minutes of games in the playoffs when the mavs were on defense cuz he was such a liability on the floor.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/18/2011 - 8:37pm #546976
bigdaddybluesmanParticipantI’ll say it again this list stuff is silly and childish.
No one player in a grouping is that much better. That’s what I meant to say in my original post. An A player is an A player that list includes players like Wade, Lebron, Dirk, Howard, Durant, Rose and so on. Then you have a B list and inside those lists you get a plus or minus.
But these lists are just plain silly stuff…..nobody behind the closed doors in the NBA makes these lists. IMO, They are for the fan and is kid’s stuff.
Why do you bother and what purpose does it serve making lists. I just don’t get it.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantHad LeBron played a decent Finals series and Miami won, there is no way he’s not the top player. Since he lost and did not play well, he’s suddenly 3rd or 4th best? SMH..
- LeBron James
- Dwyane Wade
- Dwight Howard
- Kobe Bryant
- Dirk Nowitzki
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/18/2011 - 8:55pm #546980
Pro-21ParticipantBut Id say D.Rose has a chance, so does Durant, but LBJ still probably had the best overall seasons this year, he finished second in MVP voting, and has like every year since hes been in the league , and hes won it twice. He dropped the ball in the finals, but he still made it to the finals and brought the cavs there twice by himself….LBJ is the best player in the NBA….ppl need to stop bandwagoning and leaving it to one series to dethrone someone…also Dwade had bad games too.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/18/2011 - 9:03pm #546983

JaeEvolutionParticipantWow, people are sleeping so hard on CP3 right now just because he didn’t go far in the playoffs.
1. Lebron James
2. Dwight Howard
3. Chris Paul
4. Dwyane Wade
5. Kobe Bryant0 - Posted on: Sun, 06/19/2011 - 1:16am #547004
meisi4Participantmy list would be still:
1. LeBron (dont like him but one bad series and some want to leave him out of the top 5? come on…)
2. Wade (i thought hard about putting howard here)
3. Dwight (really valueable because of position and defensive dominance)
4. Rose (still have some questionmarks about him but his regular season puts him here)
5. Kobe (only because dirk won the finals he is better than kobe? he was for one playoff run but not overall i think)
looking very close in: Durant, CP3, Dirk

BBall4life88ParticipantPeople who don’t have Dirk in your top 5 are just stupid.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 06/19/2011 - 5:39am #547031
TMoney617Participantpeople in the top 5 need to be great offensive and at least solid defensive players thats why Kobe is still in the top 5 and Dirk would be number 5 at best. He’s just being overhyped right now cause they won the title.
On the other hand people are forgetting about CP3 just cause he was coming back from an injury and sort of had an off year statistically (except for in the playoffs when he lit the lakers up).
I would say Dwade and LeBron are the top two right now but after that its probably Kobe and CP3. Durant, Dirk, and Howard are tied for 5th in my book. Rose will be there soon.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 06/19/2011 - 6:13am #547036
act2ParticipantI don’t believe that there is a clear cut top 5 right now. So I will go by position
C-Dwight Howard (no debate)
PF-Dirk (no really clear #2)
SF-LeBron (maybe Durant)
SG-DWade (perhaps Kobe)
PG-D Rose (CPaul in debate, maybe D.Will)
0 - Posted on: Sun, 06/19/2011 - 6:30am #547037
Mr.BigShotParticipantI don’t get all the love for D-Rose, he isn’t even the Best Point Guard in the league
