Stanford hoopsParticipantPERSONALLY I THINK I WOULD MAKE THAT TRADE..westbrook prob will one day be a allstar green will be close and at number 3 the clips can get another future good player and since okc has a way togo before they are playoff contenders you dont go backwards to far in the rebuilding process

sheltwon3Participantgiving up 3 young players for two draft spots is stupid even if it is Griffin. They could trade for Stoudamire for less.

Stanford hoopsParticipantnormally id say tru but i really feel griffin is gonna be a great player along wit durant being a great player and the thunder have a couple of picks and how deep next years draft is gonna be..with all those factors and the cap room they have i couldnt be mad if they made that trade

QHaynes123That would be a terrible deal
Why trade Green and Westbrook for a guy who has not played yet? Come on now

Michael.S.Participant2 solid potential all stars and a #3 pick which can be Rubio or Thabeet for 1 Blake Griffin CRAZY
0 - Posted on: Thu, 05/21/2009 - 1:22pm #152099

L.ShapParticipantThis trade would be surprisingly smart. It proves that drafting upon the best available is always a great idea. It is what the Thunder/Sonics have done for the past 2 years. A Durant-Griffin Combo would be great. If the Clippers can throw in next years first round pick it would be great.
So idealy this is the trade.
Clippers get:
Jeff Green
Russell Westbrook
Their first pick (Rubio likely)Thunder get:
Blake Griffin
Clippers next year first round pick
Throw in Mike TaylorRemember the Thunder also have a later round pick that could be a point guard like Patrick Mills or Darren Collison. This team could use a minor makeover because Green and Durant can’t coexist since they play the same position.
Simply Genius.

Stanford hoopsParticipantthats just how i feel about griffin..though i see ya’lls point..except for the trade 2 potential allstars and the 3 pick for a player that hasnt played in the nba yet..i can think of a coupel of past players id ake that trade for when they were comming out of hs or college…i also dont think green will be a all star..but this trade is last resort trade if they wreally want him..right now they are said to be offerring green or westbrook and the number 3

RickyRubio9Participantworst trade scenario ever. 2 for 1? I rather have 3 stars and draft another potential star with the 3rd pick. Griffin isn’t better then Russel and Green together. I can’t believe anyone would believe something like that is possible. I heard they’d consider trading ONE of the two and their pick for the number one, but not both. That’s insane.
How about the Kings trade Donte Greene and their pick to OKC for the second pick. Greene can play the 2 or 3, whatever Durant doesn’t want to play. I don’t know…just a though. Anyone else they’d want from the Kings? Or Just draft Thabeet and use all their cap space to sign a big free agent name in 20100 - Posted on: Thu, 05/21/2009 - 1:34pm #152105
Stanford hoopsParticipantthere last resort is those three..forgot that the clippers would have to include kaman or zach and someother player and okc would include a macthing contract (possible nick collinson)….and im sure some cant believe this or that but thats why none of us are GM or run companies

RickyRubio9ParticipantI messed up, I meant the 3rd pick for OKC. My bad.

L.ShapParticipantthts stupid having green go to the thunder. hes like a cross between green and durant. too similar.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 05/21/2009 - 1:46pm #152109
Stanford hoopsParticipant???/..green is already at okc
0 - Posted on: Thu, 05/21/2009 - 1:50pm #152110

L.ShapParticipantI was talking about 6-9 sf. Donte Greene from Syracuse currently on the Kings.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 05/21/2009 - 2:29pm #152119

sheltwon3ParticipantThe thunder has a lot of 1st round picks and and cap space that they can use to make this work. I could see giving up green and the number 3 plus taking a bad contract and maybe adding a future first round pick they have accumulated but nothing more than that. Griffin is great and would be great for that city but they have money to sign great power forwards and could get Bosh for cheaper than Griffin. I know it seems that the dude that started the post love Griffin’s game but you can’t be that desperate when it comes to making moves when you are holding better cards. The Clippers need Thunder not the other way around. Everyone knows that if the Clipper draft Griffin and keep him they will miss out Rubio who they really love and also they would have to make some moves that are not as promising. Sam Presti is too smart to make that trade you said they on I suggest sounds more realistic for both sides. Also if they don’t get Griffin there was talks of a trade with Washington that would get them MacGee and the 5 pick for the 3rd pick and they could add two young promising players for that one pick and still keep their core intact. They could use some money and some trades to shore up their bench and be one of the most exciting young teams in the West and the league period. Westbrook, Durant and Green play well together and are friends but if anything Green would be the odd man out.

HaleParticipantIt’s a terrible deal. Westbrook is a special player who is going to be very very good, and even if you get Griffin for him and Green and and the number 3, it is just plain stupid. I wouldn’t do that unless I know I am getting a top 5 player in the NBA and that is not the case here.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 05/21/2009 - 2:35pm #152122
joecheck88Participantyea you would be giving up 3 possible starters for 1.
possibly westbrook, harden, green for griffin
bad trade becasue as good as blake is, he could get injured or never pan out and you gave up 3 starters(at worst)
0 - Posted on: Thu, 05/21/2009 - 3:15pm #152132

L.ShapParticipantMaybe they could trade their late round draft pick instead of their first one.
This could enable them to keep Rubio and Griffin.
Now how do you like it.0 - Posted on: Thu, 05/21/2009 - 3:24pm #152133
juves4783Participantif the thunder make that trade, they will be the fastest team to relocate a third time. green and westbrook are great players and are young. the #3 pick will get the thunder another starter. rubio moves westbrook to the 2. harden keeps westbrook at 1, starts at 2. thabeet steps right into 5. all good situations. giving up 3 starting positions for 1 is ridiculous unless you are trading for michael jordan in his prime.

billykParticipantIf I was the Clippers I would jump at that trade Westbrook and Gordon in the back court that would be the best YOUNG backcourt in the league….

Stanford hoopsParticipantdid anyone read the secdon part to it?..scroll up and look at it..there was more to the trade where the clippers are giving more then just the pick

Meditated StatesParticipantI love Westbrook but he can’t shoot at all. Griffin just played for Oklahoma he will sellout games wich means more money. I would do that trade. I like Green, but he is a solid role player. He scored more cause that team had no one else but Durant to do it. I would do that deal. I am a fan of Westbrook, but pull the trigga get Griffin in Oklahoma it equals lots of cash for the franchise. Try to get Bibby at the point he is a free agent.

Mr. BasketballParticipant1. give me a link to that rumor, I don’t believe it.
2. Why would we get westbrook if we would take rubio in that situation and all ready have gordon who is the same height as westbrook. And we already have sf in thornton. Durant involved on the other hand…
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/22/2009 - 3:23am #152231

rvirsalParticipantwell, if the thunder can get kaman, then why not? kaman + griffin for green + westbrook + 3rd pick (i think this would be thabeet since westbrook is a one and clips still have BD). i really like westbrook but if okc could get griffin and kaman via that trade, then i won’t let the opportunity slip. kaman’s still young and remember how he played with brand out?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/22/2009 - 5:50am #152249
Stanford hoopsParticipantthats what okc is rumored to be willing to do…theres nothing that says the clippers are willing to agree to any trade for griffin
