qDizzle32Participanthttp://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/07/24/josh-huestis-agent-says-d-league-scheme-arranged-before-nba-draft/ Now it looks like the Thunder might do exactly what they did with Grant Jerrett last year, but this time on a 1st round pick with a guaranteed contract. Wouldn’t be surprised if they do the exact same with Semaj Christon, since the Thunder actually have 17 players on their roster right now, that includes Huestis and Christon who haven’t been signed yet. To be honest, I found the Thunder using a 1st rounder on Josh Huestis as the dumbest pick in the draft, yes dumber than Caboclo at 20, not saying that wasn’t stupid also. Didn’t even have him going in the 2nd round in my mock and if the Thunder really wanted him that badly, they could have easily just told another team to draft him in the 2nd round, and had just bought his rights without giving up anything and saved themselves a lot of money. They basically did the same thing two years in a row after doing the same with taking Andre Roberson 26th overall in 2013. Would still take other SF’s who were still available at that time like Cleanthony Early, KJ McDaniels and GR3 by a lot over Huestis smh.

theEDGEParticipantIT was already know that Huestis would play D-League this year.
He actually asked for this with Thunder management.

GStatesince88ParticipantThe 2014 Draft was super deep and I don’t see Huestis as one of the many players that will have long careers in the NBA. I think the Thunder should have drafted Nick Johnson, especially if they are considering starting Reggie at the 2.

CynthiaParticipantI’ve been slowly losing faith in Sam Presti the last two years. He was once regarded as one of the best GM’s and possibly the best eye for rookie talent. Now he’s starting to get shady, and on top of that he NEVER pulls the trigger on moves that will benefit the team. He passes on any & all trades, he never signs people in free agency(or off waivers) that will actually improve the team. Either his hands are completely tied by the ownership group(which may be the case?) or he’s lost his touch.
I’m a huge Thunder fan since I lived in OKC for a few years, but I feel like the Thunder are just at a stalemate, never to win a championship and locked in as a second or third place finisher every year. Unfortunately the only way I think they can raise theirself over that bar and get a championship is to get rid of Brooks, Presti, Perkins, and start spending some of the billions that ownership group has.
