Orlando signed Morris Almond and Linton Johnson.

    The Pacers signed Luther Head

I like the Magic’s signing of Almond, J.J. Reddick hasn’t really done what Orlando has drafted him to do a couple years ago. Almond can come in and do the same things Reddick can and either push J.J. to get his game on, or if Almond out plays him then they have their 3 point expert off the bench in Almond

Luther head isn’t a bad sign for the Pacers, he can play both guard positions and it gives the Pacers and him and Brandon Rush give Indiana a lot of quick offense off the bench.

yeah i like Head in Indian, especially since O’brien loves 3 point shooters. I can see him being a big contributor to their team. He would be instant offense off of the bench. maybe 9ppg this year

I like the Luther Head signing also. We can use more help at two guard since Dunleavy isn’t expected to be 100% at the start of the season.

Morris Almond will definitely push J.J. Reddick for minutes in Orlando.

I don’t totally ascribe to what JoeWolf above is trying to say and some of the others seem to be implying also!

J.J Redick has definitely shown marked improvement especially last year and do not forget,Van Gundy started getting him more minutes and even though he has not blown people away(Be honest though, can anyone say they thought Redick was going to be a star in the league!)

As I said in another post with another player who was still relatively a new player, give them some more time!!!Redick just finished his 3rd year and going into his 4th now.I remember his 2nd year and alot of last year when Redick was not getting hardly any playing time and was asking to be traded(Remember that??)

His F.G% is low but that is something very typical that younger players struggle with.

All I said is that Reddick hasn’t lived up to the 11th overall pick in 2006, and that Morris Almond should push him to get better. I don’t think that’s an inaccurate statement. Reddick has shown flashes, I think he had 15 in a playoff game last year, but I’m not counting him out, I just like the singing for Orlando. Almond should push Reddick to get better, If he doesn’t they have Almond, they are pretty similar players.

IMO JJ Redick has declined since he was that star at Duke.

I don’t think he has declined. Reddick throughout high school in college was the focal point of his team’s offense. He had the benefit of having screens run and plays drawn up for him to get shots all game. In the NBA when you are playing with Rashad Lewis, Hedo (now Vince), and even Dwight Howard you don’t have those luxuries. In my opinion he is adjusting to being a role player and a 3 point specialist without being the focal point of an offense. I think his guard skills have progressed in his time in the NBA, but he really hasn’t found his nitch in the NBA.

Yes… Morris Almond is DEFINITELY an upgrade over JJ Redick… More athletic and versatile than Redick will ever be…

I thought Luther Head should have an NBA team last season where he would get good minutes but now with the Pacers, I think he could some quality time… Being a shooter that he is, Indiana will benefit a lot more from him at the offensive end…

As a season ticket holder to the ESA. formely known as the delta center, i watched morris very closely when he got a couple minutes of run time. Almond looked confused and lost 99% of the time. Mr. Almond guy he was gaurding could be an superstar if almond gaurded him evey game. Mr. Almond sadly let me down because I thought he was going to be the next hornacek for the Jazz. If Almond is an upgrade over jj reddick then jj should not be in this league!
