Whether it’s because of a gut feeling or a duplicate player at that position, what scenarios do you feel like just wouldn’t happen? Here are a few of mine:

Julius Randle to Utah: I’ve seen this in some mocks. I just can’t see him and Favors co-existing. How committed is Utah to matching any offers made to Gordon Hayward? If they are willing to pay anything to keep him in town, it’s hard to see them drafting a wing player. Would they take Exum if he’s available, despite the presence of Trey Burke? I doubt it. Can they put together a generous enough offer to move up for Jabari Parker? Seems unlikely. I think they’ll end up choosing between Vonleh, Randle, and Aaron Gordon, and of the three, I just don’t see Julius Randle heading to SLC.

Marcus Smart to Boston: Rondo is only 28 and I believe wants to stay in Boston. And Avery Bradley is very similar to Marcus Smart; combo guard, signature athleticism, not a great shooter, high energy, etc. Seems redundant. I can’t see Ainge and Stevens going that route.

Tyler Ennis to Orlando: There is some speculation that Orlando loves the wealth of PGs available at No. 12, so much so that it could deter them from taking Exum at No. 4. I’m not buying that, but even if I was, Elfrid Payton feels like more of a Rob Hennigan type of guy than Tyler Ennis.

*Note: I do, however, love the idea of hearing Bostonians pronouncing Marcus Smart’s last name.

Aaron Gordon – Sacramento. His energy and hybrid style at PF would be a great compliment to DeMarcus Cousins.

Doug McDermott – Phoenix. A pure scorer whos not really known as a defender. This ones almost self explanatory.

The Jazz have a good young player at every  position but are deepest  up front. The one thing they  don’t have is size at the PG position.  They would draft a potential  all-star in a  heartbeat. Agree with Randle, Gordon  or Vonleh seem more  likely. If Exum is there, they’ll draft him.

if the sixers don’t get parker or wiggins I just say go balls deep with embiid if back checks out.
Man up take the pick if it doesn’t work then hey at the time it was the right pick.

I like smart and randle but when they can get still be got with other assets by sixers why draft them with the third pick.

Julius Randle would be a terrible fit on the Kings.  Similar strengths and weaknesses to Cousins.  The Kings’ PnR defense would be really bad with him.

I also agree that the Randle/Favors combo is troubling.  The Jazz would be better served going with Aaron Gordon.

Wiggins would be a relatively poor fit on the Bucks.  His skill set is somewhat redundant with Giannis and his lack of half-court scoring ability would really be exposed.  The Bucks’ starting PG Brandon Knight doesn’t really make too many plays for others and the Bucks don’t get out in transition nearly as much as they should.

I actually don’t think McDermott would fit well in Phoenix.  The Suns specialize in spacing the floor and running relatively simple offensive sets based around the PnR.  McDermott’s prowess off-the-ball would be limited with the Suns, as they already have spot-up shooters.  McDermott would be a better fit on a team like the Bulls that runs an offense based more upon execution in the half court and off-ball movement.

Exum in philly wouldn’t be a great fit, two combo guards who need the ball in their hands to be successful. Neither great shooters. Randle in Sac would not be a great fit either, he and cousins would be pretty bad guarding penetration and stoping paint scoring opportunities. Floor spacing would be an issue.

I agree , I don’t see Randle coming to Utah, but I do see Exum as a distinct possibility, personally I want Gordon but having Burke won’t stop the FO from taking Exum. Both Exum and Gordon have star potential so I’ll be happy with either but Gordon would be my first choice .
