RUDEBOY_ParticipantBut there will be Plenty of room for the Bandwagon after the season…
I’ve been a fan of Johnny O’Bryant since he was at East Side High School in Clarksdale Ms..Thats about 40 minutes from where. And i remember our team use to play their school when i was in high school…..I was eager to see him play last season..If i had to give him a grade it’ll be an Incomplete..But he did show he has potential:
POSITIVES:
:Great Strength which allows him to push around players inside..
:Good Rebounder especially on the offensive end.
:Good Size & NBA Body
*
WEAKNESS:
:Poor Free Throw Shooter
:Inconsistent Perimeter Game
:Lacks Seasoning
;No Post Game
;Better ConditioningBut with good coaching & hard work,he could be 1 of the surprise players this season and possibly a 1st round pick in a few years…If he had the work ethic of Jae Crowder & Kenneth Faried,2 other guys with Dreadlocks, that played college basketball…O’Bryant could be a star….

SiggyParticipantI didn’t see much of him last year, but I did see him in HS, AAU and other settings and I was never impressed by him. He looked sloppy, spastic and out of shape. Physically he was big, but his body looked soft and he was lacking lift. He’d often try to do things outside of his skillset like fadeaway jumpers without creating any space and forcing shots on the interior and missing badly. He was also turnover prone and showed poor decision making all around.
I see that he shot less than 40% from the floor his freshman year. That is just unacceptable for a kid his size, regardless of his level of experience. He’s a big body but he needs to slow down and actually learn how to use his big body. I’m not crazy about his future pro prospects. He’s gotta tighten up his body and just focus on what he CAN do as opposed to trying to prove that he can do things that he’s not particularly good at.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantHe had a really poor SEC season as a freshman. He was a strong offensive rebounder, but the turnovers, free throw shooting, and field goal percentage really show how far he has to go. LSU isn’t a particularly big (Hamilton, Turner, and Warren are gone) or experienced team (Carmouche being the exception though he is new to LSU), and it might be asking a bit too much of O’Bryant this year to predict a breakout this year.
