Both are free agents, the Thunder are a contender, next season could one or both of Noah and Horford be there?

Mid-level exception could go to Noah.  Kanter and Waiters could be sent to Atlanta in a sign-and-trade for Horford, it would seem to be possible.

Ibaka, Horford, Noah, Adams, the Thunder would have the paint under control.  Durant stays, Westbrook stars again, just some solid shooting guard play away from being as good as the Warriors.

They could even find a way to get Corey Brewer too.

Mo Speights is a free agent too.

Something for Thunder fans to think about, maybe their coach is the key to getting some important veteran additions.

Why would Atlanta trade one of their best players for two well documented bad locker room guys in Kanter and Waiters, neither of which would replace Horfords production on both sides of the ball?

A sign and trade, if Horford is leaving as a free agent then they get something for him.  If OKC and his old coach is his first choice, and maybe Lakers is his second choise and they could just sign him with cap room, the Hawks would prefer to get something in return and make a deal with OKC.

Agree with the guy above. If Atlanta is trading Horford to OKC they at least want Ibaka + something/someone else in return or a three team deal.

Let me preface this by saying that the first comment seems like a Florida fan living in OKC looking for a pipe dream type of scenario.

But based on the scenario above, the salaries don’t match so it wouldn’t happen.

As a Hawks fan, in a sign and trade, I’d need Ibaka over Kanter and I’d have to have a first round pick involved.
