BouncyBallParticipantDont think they take the western conference.. but they are deffinately one of the best teams the Clippers organization has ever put together. Probably serious contenders in a couple years

For_Never_EverParticipantCongratulations to the Los Angeles Clippers, for reaching the postseason. With a Superstar in Chris Paul, and a very good starting lineup, more than solid bench. Could this team shock everyone to take the Western Conference ?

invalidParticipantyeah the starting line up is good but im not sold that they have a solid bench

UNCbasketballbumParticipantNot this year they won’t. Next year, I think they could be favorites in the West.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantNot with the way the play defense. Love Chris Paul, but they probably won’t get past Memphis.

What The DevilParticipantI’m just waiting to see how Donald Sterling messes this team up

FearTheStacheParticipantThe Bobcats have clearly taken the joke title away from them.

CavsFan07ParticipantDo I think they’ll win the West? No. But I’m not going to be the least bit surprised if they make the Western Conference Finals.

omphalosParticipantI could see them upsetting the Thunder in a 7 game series, Paul plays very well against Westbrook and they also have Bledsoe to throw at him. The Clippers match up very well with the Thunder, but it’s just a matter of if/when they meet them. If OKC takes out Memphis in the second round, I could see the Clippers beating the Spurs, Dallas or Lakers to make it to the WCF. It will all come down to matchups in the West, because every team is going to be highly competitive and rich with talent.
Clippers are unlikely to win the West, but it’s not as far fetched as people think.

Andrew1984ParticipantI’m high on the Clips. I’m hoping they match up with OKC at some point in the playoffs because it’d be such an entertaining series.
Bill Simmons sometimes talks about reverse-underratedness. Blake Griffin is a great example. He played so well as a rookie and was on so many highlight reels that he was the talk of the town.
Then Kevin Love showed such a never-before-seen combination of rebounding and shooting skills that everyone looked at Blake Griffin and said, “Well, he still doesn’t have much of a mid-range game, doesn’t guard anyone, but everyone loves his dunks, so he’s overrated.”
So many people now think he’s overrated that he’s becoming underrated. He’s about to put the finishing touches on averaging 20 and 10 in his first two seasons. How many NBA players have done that, you ask?
Mikan, Kareem, Wilt, Russell, Bird, Admiral, Olajuwon, Shaq, ‘Zo, Duncan, Elton Brand, Artis Gilmore…any I’m missing?
Among those who didn’t: Bob Lanier, Karl Malone, Dwight Howard, Moses Malone, Barkley, Derrick Coleman, KG, Chris Webber, Patrick Ewing, Z-Bo, Bernard King, Dirk, etc.

JunkYardDogParticipantI’m agree with Tongue-Out-Like-23… I really don’t see them being a real contender with del negro as a coach, past of injuries and their current roster.
They should confront memphis (if they stay 4th) or dallas (if they beat the lakers for the 3th) : and I really don’t see them beating those teams. Their only hope is to confront denver in the PO.

PulseGlazerParticipantBetween Del Negro, the weak bench and lack of defense, they should be happy if they make the conference semis.

ghrghrParticipantAs a Memphis fan I would rather face the Clippers than the Lakers in the 1st round. They are a good team, but still not title contenders. I also don’t see them beating the Thunder or Spurs if they get past the 1st round.
If they keep this team, maybe next year they’ll make the conference finals, but I don’t see them beating the Thunder if they don’t add a significant piece or Blake Griffin adds a new dimension to his game(new post moves, better outside shot).

sheltwon3ParticipantChris Paul is a different animal in the playoffs and the only match up nightmare for them would be Memphis. Lakers will probably beat them but Clippers match up pretty well with Lakers. The also play OKC well and I think they beat the Spurs. Nick Young is getting used to his instant offense role and I have seen Paul carry a New Orleans team of nobodies and almost upset some teams.

JunkYardDogParticipant@ sheltwon3 :
I really doubt the clippers can beat the spurs in the PO… paul is another animal in the PO (agree on that point) but ginobili, duncan and parker too. Their bench has been performing well this season and they’ll all be focused on the same goal : win the ring. (I’m not a SA fan)
