European BasketballerParticipantI still cannot believe how crazy it is that NBA teams refused to draft Nikos Pappas, just because they have a bias against Greek players.
Pappas just had an incredible game in the Greek League………….this guy is going to be a MONSTER player.

ChoppyParticipantStick to Adetokoubo, you actually got some likes for pushing his barrow.

RafterParticipantI agree, Pappas has been overlooked for far too long from the racist David Stern and his just as racist side-kick Adam Silver who both took part in creating this racist NBA infrastructure that we see today. At least the Adetokunbo’s will signal some kind of change.

alingeParticipantI feel your pain euroballer, I also had an amazing game yesterday in my british rec league, I can only presume I wasn’t drafted because the NBA is racist against British players aswell.

ProudGrandpaParticipantYou have to look at it from Stern’s perspective. SOmetimes, you can’t control your utter racism against basketball players of a certain national origin; it just happens. For instance, I got out of bed this morning and I had the sudden desire to round up every single Cambodian basketball player and beat them all soundly about the head. So I did. I couldn’t help myself. Same situation with Stern and Greece.

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantSomebody might offer him a contract down the road.
I’m interested in seeing if Kostas Papanikolaou can make the league in the immediate future. I think Portland owns his rights and could use some help off the bench. What do you think about him?

European BasketballerParticipantHe’s not coming to Portland to ride the bench.

rileymcshea3ParticipantHey Euroballer can we at least get a stat line of this incredible game he played?

PurpleMonkeyDishwasherParticipantAre you Euro fans smart enough to know that a player that passes through a draft without being selected is a freeagent and able to sign with any team that the player can agree to a contract with without being being restricted by a rookie scale?
It’s a clear advantage for the player if the player is as good as you seem to think he is. In other words it doesn’t make Stern a racist the way you minds tend to think… Is it a coincidence that that there has always been a higher rate of genocide and hate crimes in Europe as opposed to the USA?
0- Posted on: Sun, 04/07/2013 - 10:18am #760920

alingeParticipantWTF are you talking about, as a Euro as you put it the majority of us understand how a draft works fine thank you and even some of us can read and write now. Taking Euroballer’s retarded views as the majority, is like me taking the views of the Westboro Baptist Church and saying all American’s believe that. Remind me again when America became fully segregated compared to the majority of Europe.

pohani komaracParticipantTalking about being smart??? Your comment says all

PurpleMonkeyDishwasherParticipantYou must be 14 yrs old lil brotha… for the record being a Brit limits what you could ever learn as far as being a basketball player. For soccer you’d be just fine!
0- Posted on: Sun, 04/07/2013 - 11:15am #760928

alingeParticipantNo i’m in my mid 20’s and went to an American University so I can understand plenty about American sports. Anyway good clever comments Dirk Nowitzki who comes from the basketball hotbed of Germany can’t know anything about Basketball either and should stick to soccer. Honestly stop arguing you just look like a dumb xenophobic

PurpleMonkeyDishwasherParticipantAs a matter of fact it’s no different than it would be for an American to learn as much about soccer as a Euro so take your xenophobe and stick it up your ass.
0- Posted on: Sun, 04/07/2013 - 11:23am #760931

alingeParticipantNo but you saying I can’t know anything about basketball because I am british is a dumb generalisation, now if you mind I must have afternoon tea, in my mansion, while playing croquet.

PurpleMonkeyDishwasherParticipantThis isn’t cricket chat is it?
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/07/2013 - 11:25am #760935

PurpleMonkeyDishwasherParticipantRather than referring to David Stearn as a racist maybe you should learn more about the history of basketball and how much better off the league as a whole compared to the years prior to Stearn. David Stearn is a huge reason players like Dirk Nowitzki have had the privilige of playing in the NBA.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/07/2013 - 11:29am #760936

PurpleMonkeyDishwasherParticipantNow you generalizing generalizations? You couldn’t have went to school for very long in the USA because you wouldn’t have made it out alive for very long.

alingeParticipantI went for 4 years to The University of Oregon and I as far as I know I am still alive. University’s tend to have people who are intelligent enough to hold a conversation and realise people from different cultures can enjoy other people’s cultures. Also I have said nothing about Stern being racist, apart from the post at the top of the page which any idiot could see was sarcasm. The only person who claimed Stern was racist was Euroballer and if you take his opinions seriously that’s you’re problem.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/07/2013 - 12:29pm #760948
pohani komaracParticipantthat school purplemonkey you went must be for “special ones”
even dumb idiot would be smart enough to understand no europian besides euroballer think Stern is racist

FreelanceScoutParticipantBro, I’m Filipino we’ve been discriminated a lot but it’s not all about race we are talking about basketball here
Reality check
1. Pappas is a good player and will have a good career in Europe.
2. I would rather sign proven guards like Prigioni and Milos Teodosic on my team
3. 5’2 Austin Carr will kill this guy
4. 3rd string point guard in the NBA is still a better player than himNo hate bro you should post something that makes sense
