In a chat today with Chad Ford somebody asked him if he can predict where the top free agents will go and this is what he said:

I did this a few weeks ago, it’s constantly changing. Just today I’ve had good sources persuasively tell me LeBron’s going to: Miami, NJ, Chicago, back to Cleveland. All four are guys I trust. It’s almost like his camp is deliberately giving out conflicting info.

Here’s my informed speculation as of today:

LeBron and Joe Johnson in Chicago
    Wade and Bosh in Miami
    Amare and Gay in NJ
    Dirk in Dallas
    Boozer in NY
    Lee in Utah

Does that mean that New York would sign Boozer and Utah would sign Lee or would they both sign contracts with their teams and then get traded to the other team Boozer(NY) and Lee(UTAH). I don’t know if that is even possible? What are some of you thoughts?

I agree, this is how I think the rosters would turn out:

    Knicks

    PG Toney Douglas
    SG Joe Johnson
    SF Danilo Gallinari
    PF Carlos Boozer
    C Brendan Haywood/Other Free Agent

    Jazz

    PG Deron Williams
    SG Wesley Matthews
    SF C.J. Miles/Gordon Hayward
    PF David Lee
    C Mehmet Okur

Looks like pretty good line-ups to me.

It’s unlikely Gay leaves Memphis, the owner of the Grizzlies has said several times that he will keep Rudy in Memphis.

I don’t think so. The Utah Jazz don’t need another undersized power forward. I think taking David Lee is a step forward in terms of rebounding and pick and mid-range pop, but defensively, he won’t be able to guard other PF in the West like Gasol, Nowitzki, Griffin, Stoudemire, Aldridge, Duncan, Bosh (If he goes to HOU).

So it won’t really help the Jazz all that much in the playoffs.

Lee is younger and is one of the best passing big men in the league

Lee is 6’9 250 lbs and Boozer is 6’9 266 lbs. So Boozer is bigger, and here are their averages Lee averages 20.2 PPG, 11.7 RPG, 0.5 BPG, 1 SPG, and 3.6 APG while Boozer averages 19.5 PPG, 11.2 RPG, 0.5 BPG, 1 SPG, and 3.2 APG. Lee has slightly better averages and he is 27 while Boozer is 28. Boozer is a go to man in crunch time, not so sure about Lee. It really just depends if New York likes Boozer more than Lee.

Boozer is all about the cash. He robbed a blind man in Cleveland. I’m not gonna lie, I DO NOT want Carlos Boozer on the Knicks.

He plays hard in a contract season, he’s undersized and he’s not a good option if he’s your only big. I’ll take Joe Johnson and David Lee.

Hell, I’ll take Joe Johnson, Brendan Haywood and Amir Johnson- JUST DON’T TOUCH BOOZER NY

Can somebody explain WHY Boozer and David Lee are considered undersized??? I always thought a good sized PF is around 6’9…

As a Knick fan..I wouldnt mind Boozer..but Id rather have Lee. Lee has improved at every aspect of his game every year. And there are reports that hes be at the Knicks facility shooting 500 3 pointers a day. Improving his range.
I definately dont want Amare, not without insurance anyways. I dont want Lebron either, Ive said that a million times on here, no need to go into why again.

All in all the guys I really want arent available. Im a frugal guy, I say save the money and hand the keys to Gallinari.
Saw a report from Frank Isola saying the Knicks are favorites to sign Luke Ridnour…awesome lol.

      pg. Ridnour
      sg. Johnson
      sf. Gallinari
      pf. Lee
      c. Haywood/Miller/Jordan ?

would make the playoffs…but thats it. Better than where the Knicks have been the past 10 years.

Undersized because nowadays PF in the L are 6’10” 6’11”

    I doubt Boozer is 6’9″, idc what nba.com says. He’s 6’8″ and I’m not sure about D-Lee.

im not to sure if boozer is a upgrade from lee rightnow …..they both do the same thing rightnow they will give u 20 and 10 vs a mediocore power forward lets say elton brand………but vs the paul gasol’s of the nba world they give 3 fouls in first quarter 10 points 6 rebounds for game and really was never ah factor in the game cause they was in foul trouble

Knicks82 why don’t you want Lebron, its pretty obvious Wade isn’t coming so why wouldn’t the Knicks go after Lebron.
Especially in D’antoni’s offense he can play any of 4 positions. At 1st I though Lebron wouldn’t fit its the Cavs system that made him a more one on one player and the half court. Open things up and Lebron will excel even more show his passing skills off and a guy like Gallinair will take reep the benefits.
Lee is 6’9″ yeah he’s undersized but just ask bigs like Duncan and Gasol what they think of him they had nothing but praise for him. He was stuck playing Center a lot of the time this past season but now he’d go back to PF if he resigns he would be their PF.
At Center the Knicks could have Brad Miller or Brendan Haywood, Earl Barron and/or Jerome Jordan.

Except that Duncan and Gasol are class act guys and they wouldn’t talk trash… even of Eduardo Najera

that doesn’t want LBJ on the knicks…
I think you realize he is not coming to the knicks…
because even if you hate the guy any team any fan would want him on their team.

I think the knicks are going after Amare or Bosh over Booozer if they can not get Amare or Bosh they
will sign Lee. If they don’t lose him in the process. I don’t see Bron going there, but you never know.
JJ from the Hawks is a good fit, but not bringing a chip to NYC… They need a all star PG in that system.

I think we are going to have to either stick with Boozer or get Michael Beasley from the Heat. Because of Beasley’s age and potential he could be better than both Lee and Boozer. One main reason why he didn’t do to much in Miami was because he did get the ball to often. He needs the ball to really shine. Unfortuantely dwade had the ball, and even though he can pass well, it would still be better if the heat had a pass first point guard that could control the team. They don’t but the Jazz do, Dwill, so Beasley would undoubtedly get the ball in Utah. On the hand I’ve heard that his ego and attitude are even worse than Boozer’s is. I don’t know if Sloan can handle that kind of head case. We haven’t faired out to well with potential high players (Kris Humphries, Curtis Borchardt, Kirk Snyder) When a player’s attitude comes into play, their potential seems to dwindle. So I say we keep Boozer. At least we know what we are getting from him, with Beasley we have no idea. I would love it if Lee could come and play for the Jazz but I expect to be after Amare or Bosh before they go after Booz. And the fans might be right, they may decide to just keep Lee and deal with it. I expect Amare to be in New York by the end of the offseason.
