I guess cause I am older and I don’t keep caught up on that hold swagger thing.  People having a style and being confident is nothing new.  I think considering how soft this society has gotten lately confidence is a rarity but still a person that has money and success being confident is not too surprising. If she was broke and dealing with failure and still had that confidence she has now, then that would be impressive and that goes for not just her but people in general.  I am originally from New Orleans and I dont even understand the hype about Lil Wayne. It is almost like people in the business play musical chairs on who they will back and if they back you, you will be the greatest rapper or what not.  I liked his earlier stuff but have not really gotten into his later stuff maybe as i got older my love for hip hop has waned, I dont know but I don’t feel the same about hip about hip hop but there are some artist that keep me coming back though.

That is why I can get into some of this new stuff because Tupac would kill it on a double album. Same for Biggie.  I didnt listen to a lot of Biggie early on but when I did you could truly get into what they were saying and how they said but giving a person props for coming out with a few nice verses.  Come on now there are so many people that could do that it is not funny.  I have to give props to those people that perform because that is not easy.  They music industry is tough.  You have to put in the work and push yourself to come out with the best you can do and put at least better stuff than a few verses. I would even be happy with a good 2 or 3 songs.  New stuff wise I listen to Lupe Fiasco even though I don’t think he is that new now.  There is more people I may like their song but have no clue who they are but like I said I am not a big rap person but I do keep tabs on hip hop since my homie make music.  I dont want to sound like the older person dissing the new generation but I just feel like there has been a lack of growth different than before and it may have to do with the media more than the people.  People seem more concerned with making money than making good music that speaks to you
