ProudGrandpaParticipantWell, for all you young NBADraft.net whippersnappers, the site has changed a lot in the past year-18 months. Not necessarily for the better, not necessarily for the worst. Probably for the more serious and more basketball-oriented, which isn’t a bad thing by any means, although I kinda miss the occasional McDunkin-NoMoney-OrangeJuiceJones-IMayBeWrong-others Gif/meme battle. (See, a lot of you newbies probably don’t even know who NoMoney and OJJ are, which is a shame!)
Needless to say, there have been some new posters that have stepped up and brought some real refreshing perspectives to the .net. And they deserve consideration for the NBADraft.net (unofficial) Hall of Fame. So now that the draft is over, and the game of basketball is reloading, I think it’s time to revisit the .Net HOF:
Now, the HOF is unofficial, as I have mentioned, but there’s some undeniable names who have already cemented themselves in the Hall of Fame:
MikeyVTheDon
IndianaBasketball
McDunkin
ButIDon’tHaveThe Money
JNixon-Iggy
Y2G
I May Be Wrong
OrangeJuiceJonesThere are probably some other names who most would agree deserve a spot (JoeWolf, MagicKnick, LeroyJenkins, M-DYMES, NBANFLGuy, BothTeamsPlayedHard, 8thDeadlySin, llperez), but the fact of the matter is, there are some guys who have balled on this forum since the last consideration. Allow me to propose a few names:
Siggy- This guy has really come out of the woodwork. In a little over the year, he has amassed a ridiculous 6,000+ points and launched himself into the ranks of the all-time greats. He brings sound opinions to every discussion and he got 1st place (1st place!!) in his first-ever mock draft competition last year.
ItsDwightHoward- This guy has become a personal favorite of mine. He brings awesome basketball knowledge to the table. He’s got a respectable 3,000+ on not that many posts. And he respects the proper usage of the English language as he is a great writer lol. Plus, the Dwight-Howard-on-the-Magic avatar is kind of hopelessly endearing.
Raef Lafrentz- This guy just makes me laugh. He’s one-liners are great, his points-to-posts ratio is great, and his homage to a long-since-forgotten, but above-average lovable white big man is awesome. Smart dude, too.
Cynthia- First of all, the lady (assuming she IS a lady, though pardon me for having the tiniest hint of skepticism) broke the site gender barrier, and now she’s become a knowledgeable, respected, gif-posting tour de force. And it looks like Derrick Favors jokes aren’t McDunkin’s only weakness any more, eh?
In other news, we need to make room in the Site Failures wing of the HOF as “aivsdirk” has amassed an unprecedented, MIND-NUMBING -1131 points in 13 hours of existence. Nothing like this has ever been seen on this site and probably will never be seen again. What is even more amazing is the fact that he seems to be very serious about his opinions.
Anyways, feel free to discuss some HOF-worthy posters. I thought it’s be nice to have a shameless ego-boosting thread again as its been while. Sorry for not putting this in Off-topic, but let’s be honest…the Off Topic board is never going to get a thread seen by anyone.

Sewok15ParticipantI have come to realize Siggy is a fountain of knowledge.
llperez brings the incredibly rare west coast bias to the board.
aivsdirk was on fire today…I thought it was impressive to be -100 in only one day but he somehow managed to get into the 4 digit negs in one day….He was convinced Dwight will just sign with the Clippers like they are the Yankees and the salary cap does not exist.

I May Be WrongParticipantMuch like Steve Kerr, I rode the greatness of a legend (McDunkin) and made myself seem much more important than I really am. I went to a strip club this weekend but they couldn’t stroke my ego the way you do PG. (and the best part is I save $120 dollars)
But I think it’s nice to reflect on the users who make this forum what it is today. Personally, I’m a huge fan of the Scare Crow. Not saying I always agree with him but you can just feel how passionate he is whether it’s our sixers, a trade, the Xbox 1 vs PS3, etc. dude is always going to explain himself lol
I may be sharpe – protege aside he’s a pretty good poster who I tend to agree with generally.
FranFran – it seems like he can put any numbers he wants and we all have no problem with it. Maybe it’s the commas instead of decimals lol0- Posted on: Wed, 07/03/2013 - 8:04pm #812675

AmiableBaller34ParticipantI’ve been using this site for about 7 years now, and this is my third account. I’ve always found that the best basketball discussions on the net take place here, and a lot of it is because of the love most people here have for the game. If you go to other sites like realgm or espn you only find people who spew out monosyllabic answers or something about LeBron, but on nbadraft you usually get thorough responses and keen insight. While the individuals mentioned above are all good posters, I think it’s a testament to the site in general.
While I don’t like the point system because I feel it hinders people from saying what they want to at times (lets be honest, this site has the lowest amount of Heat hate on the net lol), I still feel like it gives people an idea of who knows what they’re talking about, and who just wants to talk like the NBA is a game of 2k.

LipstickParticipantDo those mentioned get highlight reels of their best posts too?
Quite the list. NBADraft.net has some nice depth when it comes to forum posters.

TomShoeParticipantHa. I get no love.
We should really expand the hall of infamy. We’ve had just as many (to put it lightly) “Not-as-intelligent” posters as we do good ones.
EuropeanBaller, Aivsdirk, KerryKittles, Leon, and JulieCash come to mind, to name a few.
