Gold Chain2 weeks after I stopped, I joined the gym. First day I expected to just walk a mile or two on the treadmill. Ran 2 miles nonstop.
Partly because lungs cleared out, partly because I went vegetarian around the same time i stopped smoking weed. Lost like 8-10 lbs before I even hit the gym for the first time, and that helps when trying to do cardio.
I’m pretty sure there’s a conspiracy to get us to eat as much meat as possible, but it’s not good for your health.
Once you’re past age 25 or so, you’re probably fairly well filled out and shouldn’t be in the beefcake weight gain 3000 mode anyway.
I’d rather have toned arms that aren’t big than big arms that aren’t toned.
Especially since i’m officially in my late 30s and was probably 15-20 lbs overweight. Not good to carry that extra weight, and protein in general is overrated. It’s still important, but you don’t need tons of it like the media seems to promote.

ChewyParticipantagree with a T-Rex post… I don’t know how I feel about this.

Gold ChainPorzingis, career mode? You’re living my dream…
… when I was a BURN-OUT!!
lol, what comes after my righteous health freak phase?
Hopefully not more weed.
Exercise gets you high as F.
Most people going out to bars should really be at the gym.
If the girls started going to the gym on friday nights, i’m sure the dudes would follow.
"Can I buy you a protein shake?"

Hype MachineKeep going dude. That meat rant was a classic side effect of getting off the thc. (Thinking you can take over the world through legit righteousness lol…been there). Bet you had some crazy-ass dreams too.
Off topic…but dude sounded like he needs the support.

Gold ChainI got over my "think i can take over the world" phase years ago. That’s part of why i over-indulged in weed.
Now I’m thinking about buying a recorder (like a flute) and learning stairway to heaven. Probably a bad idea, sounds like a gateway to more weed.

Magic JordanParticipantEverything is good in moderation, even moderation. It effects people differently. Some can maintain a healthy lifestyle while smoking and some can’t. I can’t imagine writing code all day sober all of the time. But I also can’t imagine going to work high everyday. Like most things in life there is a balance to be had if you like getting high.
Unless of course you are a professional athlete.
I applaud those that do quit and enjoy the sober life. Especially if it has an impact on you working out and your diet. The hardest part is to not eat that bag of chips that you know you want. But after a few times telling yourself no it becomes pretty routine to be able to smoke as well as stay healthy.

Gold ChainI have an addictive personality, which is why I never got into gambling, but this fall I was REALLY thinking about putting some money down on Porzingis winning roy, when the odds were CRAZY low/good/whatever.
But it seems like every online bookie has some little tricks to rob you of your money, and that’s a bad set of neural pathways to open in my brain, the gambling thing.

Gold ChainI think James Young is in a pretty good situation in Boston. In the wrong situation, I could see him coming down with a bad weed habit.
That’s my concern with Brandon Ingram, he looks 3/4 baked as it is.

Gold Chainthanks. If I do make that ill advised decision, it would be next preseason or early regular season on one or two of the season long categories. Like ROY race (maybe there’s some euro underdog or something) or regular season winning records (like I wanted to bet on Knicks and Celtics beating spread this year).
Is it considered gambling if you just base your bets on OE? Because teams with high OE are outperforming pre-season expectations vs teams with bad floor spacing but decent overall talent.
I couldn’t see this Pacers run coming, but I def saw Charlotte outperforming regular season record spread by the end of preseason.
I can’t stand the draftkings type daily fantasy betting. Trying to turn the entire country into degenerate gambling addicts.
Staying on the sidelines pays off every day I suppose.

Robb_CParticipantLots of variables go into being a sharp basketball capper, guys with a discipline approach that understand the roller coaster of the nba/ncaa season will always come out ahead..leave your ego at the door and let the numbers tell the story, people tend to bullshit numbers dont.

Gold Chainanother reason i didn’t want to bet on regular season record bets is because I got the feeling you automatically lost the bet if there wasn’t exactly 82 games.
Bad weather could get a game cancelled that couldn’t be rescheduled, and there’d only be 81 games played. F that.

Meditated StatesParticipantI seen people overcome mental illness with the use of it. I have seen people become better atheletes at a older age and become more fit than ever with the addition of marijuana. I seen people literally develop good habits across the board with the addition of it. I also agree it is not productive for everyone.

apb540ParticipantAll this anti-Cannabis talk on here has me cracking up. Whatever have your opinions, I know the truth. My opinion however is that Al Jefferson should be able to smoke as much cannabis as he wants as long as he is doing the job that his team asked him to do. No arrests or other off-the-court issues that I know of, and the last time the dude ended a season not averaging at least 16 & 8 was 2005-06.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantSo ty Lawson gets caught driving drunk twice in the span of 4 months putting both himself and the lives of innocent people in danger and gets no penalty or suspension from the NBA. Yet al Jefferson fails a drug test (presumably for weed) and gets an automatic 5 game suspension. Makes sense doesn’t it?

BleedGreen808ParticipantI do agree with you about Lawson not being punished yet but I believe it has to do with the legal processes first before his suspension. However with Al it is an automatic 5 game suspension after his 3rd failed test. That means he had failed two drug tests before being punished this time.

DevonAliceParticipantThe NBA reported Wednesday that Hornets focus Al Jefferson has been suspended five recreations without pay for infringement of the NBA’s hostile to medication arrangement. Jefferson, who is right now out a few weeks with a strained calf, will serve the suspension once he’s physically recorded as ready to play. A five-amusement suspension is the ordered discipline for a third infringement for testing positive for weed and not a HGH or execution improving medication infringement, as delineated in the aggregate dealing assention between the NBA and the players’ union. http://www.buyativanonlinenow.net/
