lakeshow22ParticipantBetter player in 5 years Andre Drummond or Nerlen Noels? Who has more potential and bigger upside? Better rebounder and shot blocker? Better Defender?

eci_eliteParticipantNerlens couldn’t score in high school. Overrated prospect. Tony Battie maybe? Not a Drummond fan but I think the sky is the limit for him.

Raef LaFrentzParticipantI agree F_S, it’s got to be Drummond in my mind.

Puregreen5ParticipantAndre Drummond is the better player/prospect. Noel isn’t nearly the physical specimen that Drummond is. Drummond is a better Defender over Noel at this stage too. He could become DPOY oneday in the NBA, over guys like Serge Ibaka and Derrick Favors. Drummond is my choice by a mile!

LipstickParticipantYou can make the most educated case for Nerlens being the best player and you will still get negged for it. Gotta love the point system here.
With that said, Drummond. Hair style, Nerlens but physically Drummond is way ahead. They’re both very athletic but Drummond would eat him alive in the post and foul him out. I think both will be great defenders but Drummond will get more minutes because of his offensive potential.
But…Nerlens hasn’t even played a game of college ball so a lot could change in a few months.

JoeWolf1Noels is too skinny for me to bet on at this point. It’s well documented that I’m not the biggest Drummond supporter, but the thing he has that Noels doesn’t, is an NBA body. Neither one can play much offense, both block shots and rebound, but one is 270 lbs and strong and the other is a lean 225 lbs.
Now I know when Noel hits UK he’ll be lifting and eating 5,000 calories per day, and he may bulk up, but as of now he just looks like a kid that will get bullied at the pro level. Drummond isn’t polished at all, but his size isn’t going to lead to him getting knocked around.

Brew Meister SmithParticipantI think a better question would be who will be better between Drummond and Jonas Valenciunas in five years. Two potential great centres with very different skill sets. Valenciunas has been looking extremely good so far this preseason, and he has a much more well rounded game than Drummond – On the other hand Drummond looks like he wil be an absolute beast inside.
