Do you think Sacramento, Minnesota, and Los Angeles Lakers would be the 6-8 seeds in the east this year? They would. Meanwhile, Russell still shooting 43.3% this year. Career average is now up to 41%. He averages 3 turn overs per game. Meanwhile, Siakam has increased his pgg by 10 points. He shoots 54% from the field, He’s clutch, and the third best player on a Title Contender. Hmmm..

It is between Siakam and Russell, with Fox maybe having an outside shot, if Siakam wins it I will not be mad at all.

Russell also took his game to next level becoming a 20pt scorer and becoming an All Star.  Both players increased their PER by 4 over last year, but Siakam did so with an increase of 11 minutes per game and Russell did so in only an increase of 4 minutes per game.  Plus Nets wouldn’t be close to making the playoffs without Russell, Raptors would still be one of best teams in East without Siakam.

Yeah, I gotta go Siakam too. I hate giving high draft picks the MIP, as the expectation is they’ll be a star.

Is it about who do I think will win it, or who I think deserve it?

    My choices is :
    MVP- Giannis Antetokounmpo
    ROY- Luka Doncic
    DPOY- Rudy Gobert
    6th- Lou Williams
    MIP- Siakam
    Coach- Kenny Atkinson
    Executive- Masai Ujiri.

    I expect it to be:
    MVP- Harden
    ROY- Luka Doncic
    DPOY- Rudy Gobert
    6th- Lou Williams
    MIP- D’Angelo Russell
    Coach- Doc Rivers
    Executive- Jon Horst

    • MVP: Giannis
    • ROY: Luka Doncic
    • DPOY: Rudy Gobert or Paul George
    • 6th Man: Spencer Dinwiddie (Lou Williams wins it every year it seems like, it needs to go to someone else)
    • MIP: D’Angelo Russell (Sorry Fox, but I don’t believe this award should go to sophomores because they are supposed to make a jump in their second year, especially if they had a bad rookie year and were such a high draft pick.
    • Coach: Mike Budenholzer (so many candidates for this award, Quinn Snyder, Nick Nurse, Steve Clifford, Dwayne Casey, Kenny Atkinson just to name a few. Have to give it to Budenholzer for turning Milwaukee from a 7 seed last year I believe to a 1 seed in the east and the team with the best record by far. By the looks the Bucks could have the best record in the league by 3 wins!!! And this after everybody thought the Warriors would have the best record again, and they could end up with the third best record!)
    • Executive: Elton Brand or Jon Horst

John Wyers choices look fairly solid to me.

Would Buddy Hield get any thought as MIP, he’s but up very similar stats to Russell this season and is the older guy.

I agree Coach, perhaps Siakam for Russell and Horst or Ujiri for Brand. A few really good coaching jobs out there too – Malone, Clifford, Rivers, Stotts.

So who will win the East, West and championship?

I’ve had Warriors, Raps and Warriors respectively all year. If I had to go and lay down a bet though, I might jump on take a risk for a bigger price – Rockets, Bucks and Bucks. It’s very possible, and the top 2 MVP candidates facing off would make for an incredible finals.
Denver will be a really tough out by the way, 2nd seed and playing multiple games at altitude over short periods.

Its crazy that 3 or even 4 of those awards are probably going to International players!!

They’re also all under 25, the NBA has become such a melting pot.

    I think its awesome

The NBA is, but why is the Rising Star game International vs Americans?

LVP — Least Valuable Player, Anthony Davis. Wake me up when this guys wins something. Anything. Dude has been in the league for seven years and has had as much impact on winning as Popeye Jones.

LIP — Least Improved Player. Anyone on the Charlotte Hornets. Your choice.

Trash Coach of the Year — Thibs.

Hot Garbage NBA Exec — Magic. Like really, who would have guessed that mixing a bunch of young guys with Lance, Rondo, Beasley, Javelle McGee and LeBron was going to end badly. I’ll tell you — anyone who knows anything about anything.

Bison Dele Disappearing Award — Andrew Wiggins. Does anyone watch this guy play and think to themselves, "There’s a guy who loves basketball."
