I often watch Real Madrid basketball team train and i watch them play a lot , here is my evaluation of some of the players.

Nikola Mirotic #23 2011 NBA draft – Chicago Bulls

      • He is a very simple player, not flashy and seems to get everything that needs to be done, done. Unselfish player and seems very intelligent on the court. A decent shooter and has decent post moves. He is always putting in extra work in the gym , seems always to be working on his J after training. Nevertheless sometimes he may seem odd. His jumpshot is very stiff and only really goes in of the set shot. Doesn’t have a high motor and lacks athleticsm. Potential i cant really grade.

Sergio Llull #34 2009 NBA draft – Houston Rockets

    • Great atheltic ability, Can get to the baket whenever he wants. Good shooter either of the dribble or spotting up. Is a combo guard but for of a Shooting Guard than a distributor. Has really improved his playmaking abilites over the last few years.Defensivly seems fine due to his athelticsm. Has a low turnover rate. However he is undersized to play his natural 2 position, doesn’t average a lot of assists and relies on his athletic ability to score and make plays which will be much more difficult for him in the NBA.

Kyle Singler #33 2011 NBA draft – Detroit Pistons

    • Everybody knows a lot about this guy, very unselfish, great shooter, very high IQ and a winner. Very good coming off screens and has very good size for a 3. However defense is a question as he can’t even defend in europe properly and they are less athletic and mobile that in the NBA. Dribbling is not very effective and can’t seem to finish around the rim.

    Ante Tomic – Croatia

    • I really thought this guy should of got more playing time this year. Is a typical european big, He has extremely good post moves, able to finish with either left or right hand in a variety of ways. Good passer and a decent shooter (for a big man). However he is very week and skinny, cannot hold his position in the post, does not rebound or block well for a big man,

Will Llull or Tomic be in the NBA any time soon?  I know Mirotic and Singler are locks to be in the NBA but the jury is still out on Llull and Tomic.

I think Llull could be surprisingly succesfull in the NBA. His playing style is much better suited to NBA and he definetely has enough explosivness and very good first step to blow by many defenders in the league.

People need to stop calling established professional players "prospects". They are not "prospects".

^I beg to differ, I view prospects as unproven young guys with potential that are still being developed with room to grow, even if they are at the professional level. For example, guys like Jeremy Tyler, Jujaun Johnson, Josh Selby can be called prospects.

I mentioned Llull in a couple of other posts regarding Lowry and the Rockets. On a team who over the past 3-4 years have beccome terrific at developing young pg’s and Llull could very well be the next in line to take his starters position lol.

Tomic was a player I was very high on a few years back prior to LAL landing Gasol as his skill-set seemed like it would perfect to develop beside of Bynum. LAL then landed Pau shortly after and I actually forgot abot Ante. With LAL developing all of these young pf/c’s, is Ante going to be in their plans or will they end up leaving him in Europe or sending his rights away some years later similar to Scola and the Spurs.

Llull is a SG, not a PG. Tomic is horrible on defense, which is why he hardly even plays for Real Madrid.

By your own definition, none of those players are "prospects".

@Junkyard. Yeah, I knew that Uath owen his rights, not sure why I wrote LAL. Probably becuse I was talking abou them prior. I hadnt even realized I put it until I came back to this thread just now. That’s why I was talking about them developing so many young pf/cs.

@European, Llull is a combo guard. Despite what position he plays in Europe, his listed NBA position would be PG. A combo guard to be exact.  Second, I’m well aware that Tomic is a poor defender, I said WAS high oon him. Before even being drafted when he was still a youthful prospect. And FYI, 9 out of 10 Euro’s are poor defenders or average AT BEST in the NBA.

tomic softnes is like gasol’s softnes on steroids. especially lack of agresivnes is killing him

tough i would still get some time as he was late grove case. from time to time he showes why he is closest thing to gasol, when he decides to play tougher. i expect from him to have better game with barca then caja. usually he plays well agaist them. lampe matchup was nightmare for him
