He is a big basketball junkie too but somehow he doesn’t have an account on here…

Anyways a couple observations he had:

    • The Kings either don’t know how or refuse to rotate defensively. He said they just watch the ball a lot and leave shooters wide open
    • The Nuggets scored so quickly, often getting a basket within the first 10 seconds of a possession
    • Ray McCallum is a hard-worker on defense and has talent but lacks confidence
    • Collison is nice on offense but really bad defensively
    • Stauskas is out-classed by the NBA level players
    • Jason Thompson should not be a starter in the NBA
    • McClemore is tough and very underrated defensively
    • Faried is a beast on the glass and incredibly active
    • Nate Robinson doesn’t stop talking trash
    • JJ Hickson looked out of shape, fat, and bad (injury will do that to ya)
    • Rudy Gay plays for himself, he’s a freak of nature athletically but refuses to do anything that helps the team in any way shape or form. He had never seen a single player with less incentive to play team baskteball in his entire life
    • Nurkic, Lawon and Afflalo looked very good

2 funny stories, during free throws after DeMarcus got called for a foul and was shaking his head, my buddy’s Dad yelled "move on to the next play DeMarcus!" "move on!" and DMC nodded his head at him

and in the 3rd quarter after consecutive post-up scores by Alonzo Gee on Nik Stauskas, he said that DeMarcus turned and yelled at Coach Corbin "Get Stauskas the hell outta here!" Corbin then subbed McClemore back in for him LOL

He said the players don’t listen to Tyrone Corbin, don’t look him in the eye, and said the Kings are just flat out strange to watch

Like the comments, but I think it’s a little to early to call Staukas “outclassed” by the NBA level. Way Too many rookies struggle in their 1st year or more.

Again – his observations, not mine. But you might be right, Stauskas had 13 points tonight too…I think he was referring to the fact that he was a defensive disaster against one of the most offensively challenged wing players (Alonzo Gee) in the entire NBA

The situation the Kings are in right now has to be one of the most depressing storylines to come out of this season so far.

They seemed to have finally turned the corner, were playing together and Cousins was making an impact on both ends that were leading to actual wins.

Then Demarcus goes down with a sudden illness, the Kings drop games and the ownership decides to fire a coach who was actually bringing out the potential of players that have struggled elsewhere.

Oh, and replace him with the hopelessly incompetent Ty Corbin.

I mean, did they really think they would win more with Corbin?

The fact that they still haven’t found a new coach tells me they’ve given up on this season, so why fire Malone? Why not give him the season to see what happens?

I get they wanted "style" changes etc., to build excitement for the new arena, but did they seriously think a fun team that lost a lot would be more popular than a winning team that played a bit slower.

Not to mention that Cousins is the PERFECT guy for a half-court team that grinds it out and makes no sense in an uptempo side.

Kings… seriously one of the most depressingly badly run teams since they drafted Cousins.

Tyreke and Cousins used correctly, with the right coach and with the right draft picks around them should have been the foundation for their future, but then they decide… hey, let’s draft Jimmer Fredette instead of a guy like Brandon Knight who could actually play quite well next to Tyreke, and then take Thomas fecking Robinson over Harrison Barnes, who has shown with Golden State the ability to thrive off the ball, make smart decisions, hit open shots and play hard D.

It still boggles my mind that the Kings could have had a lineup of Knight, Evans, Barnes, (any PF really) and Cousins and instead have just Cousins.

Oh, and then this year deciding to pass on Vonleh, who would mesh well next to Cousins with his potential as a stretch four,

Buh – feel sorry for Kings fans.

The Bosnian boogie is showing a lot of potential in his last couple of games when he played 20+ mins.

He is only 20yo but he is already very strong and big (I think he weighs 280lbs).

He can score with his back to the basket and is developing a reliable mid range jumper.

He can also shoot free throws at a decent level for a guy his size. He was shooting 70% while playing in Cedevita.

His biggest problem is fouling , but as he gets more adjusted to the league’s tempo and gets more experience i believe he will overcome that.

if he keeps getting minutes he could be the best rookie center(not really impressed by Noel).

Yeah, that is him just adjusting. Pekovic did it a lot too early in his career. I think just the quickness, athleticism and how the game is called is different here compared to europe

gives you a different perspective than watching games on tv… But I wouldn’t walk away thinking some of these guys perform like this on every occasion. Meaning Rudy loafing or even Ben playing good defense. It’s still only one game…but I will say player interaction and coach interaction is something that you can take away from it… These are things that you normally wouldn’t see at home.

“Get Stauskus the hell outta here!” is pretty funny.

Tyrone Corbin is a complete joke. The fact that he has a job as an NBA head coach is almost horrific.

I was at the game too. Funny comments. I will just take exception to the Collison very bad defensively. He’s quick, stays in front usually and is good at pressing. Although yes he didn’t fare well against Lawson that night.

To me there is no place like a Kings home game, glad they had a chance to experience it

I like the obsevations your buddy made. Here I was thinking SacTown was turning the page, but their slippage probably has to do a lot with Mike Malone being fired so abruptly. Also, I feel like McCallum is more of a longterm King than any point guard on this squad, may as well let him play more. It’s interesting that you mentioned the confidence thing about him. He was the summer league MVP I think — don’t quote me. He played with a ton of ‘swag’ during the summer, though the levels of play aren’t nearly comparable, he probably just needs more PT.
