Okay So Dirk Has Been A Good Reason The Mavs Are Back In The Finals & So Has King James. So Let Me Ask You Guys Who Do You Think Has Been More Important To Their Respective Teams In Both Of Their Championship Run?

Dirk, because heat have dwade and bosh so its not like they lack star power. Mavs only have Dirk, they might be a borderline playoff team in the west without him

     Dirk hands down.

The only reason teams don’t completely collapse the paint on the Mavs is because of Dirk. Without Dirk, teams can more easily shut down Terry, and Chandler/Marion aren’t going to get any of the open looks they’re getting now cause teams no longer need to use their best big man to chase Dirk around the perimeter.

Lebron is very important to the Heat, but it’s harder to to say how important he is, because with Bosh, Wade, and Lebron all playing together, neither one of those 3 can be the dominating players they were before, since they’re sharing shots with each other. Lebron still handles the point/play making responsibilities through large portions of the game, but when he was on the Cavs he did it much more as well as looked for his own shot more, and on almost any other team, would do it more, he just happens to be playing with Wade, so Lebron sacrifices some ball touches for the sake of letting Wade be Wade and vice versa.

Dirk is the Mavs offense. Whether Dirk has the ball or not, defenses are glued to him, and his mere presence gives his teammates open looks. Against the Heat during the playoffs, teams have been glued defensively to Bosh, Wade and Lebron.

Time will tell, but measuring Lebrons impact is more difficult since a super team like this hasn’t been seen very often. So I’m going with Dirk since his impact is easy to measure and is clearly important.

Obviously Dirk. That’s what I said all the time, because people tried to get Howard in the mix for the MVP for that reason. When he was out the Mavs went 2-7, without that injury they would have competed for the first spot, he was also one of the Leaders in +/- although some people still seem to think that he is a big liability on D. Lebron is the better player though, no doubt about that.
