in his first preseason game and after just 14 minutes of play he skipped to to floor and fell on his right shoulder. MRI is telling that he needs surgery to repair his shoulder and is almost for sure out for the season. Good thing for the Hornets is that they just added Batum and the idea of playing Batum at the 2 should be thrown out of the window now.

Man it sucks so bad to see so many young players with freak injuries that put their career into jeopardy. He just signed a new four year extension and is working hard every year to get his shot remodeled and what worse could happen to him who is the prime example for someone who always needed better mechanics.

I really feel sorry for him. I was always rooting for him cause unlike other players I think he is still a good player overall despite lacking fundamentals like a legit shot or ballhandling and passing skills. I really hate this for his personal situation and widh him nothing but the best!

     He’ll be back.

Hes a good all-around player but the kind that needs to take 500 jumpers a day just to stay average. He wont get that.

Actually he has a dislocated shoulder with a labral tear which is different from a seperated shoulder.  Love also had a dislocated shoulder but MKG’s is more serious because of the torn labrum.  Also the bad thing about subluxations(partial dislocation) and dislocations is once it happens you are more susceptible to having the joint dislocate again.

Terrible news for the Hornets, great news for Jeremy Lamb.

It’s now or never for Kemba’s college running mate, but I think he’ll have a good season alongside Batum.

He’s a guy who looks better alongside starters rather than coming off the bench.

MKG is  HUGE for Cha’s win total.  Check their record with and without him last year. If he misses the year, they will be one of the 5 worst teams in basketball unless Frank shocks.

Hornets can have Evan Turner for nothing to help with depth.

It’s celtics oportonity now to try trade for Batum and big Al together, using some of their young talent and attractive draft picks! Smart/Bradley/Batum/Amir/Big Al with second unite that include Thomas/Turner/Crowder/Sulinger/Olynick can make noise!!

continuing to loose even at the price of a high end pick will be counter productive for the hornets since theyve been trying to change their loosing culture since they set the record for one of the worst record in NBA history before taking MKG 2nd over-all.

dealing your established and main players for young talent with no vet, no leader will be very bad for the franchise. if charlote can reach the level of the jazz who is known as a team that doesnt have much allure to get top name free agents but they do have their never tank culture which is good for the community and the team. that kind of culture is the kind of foundation you want your team to built on.

so i dont think they should deal al jeff or batum, its next man up and try to compete and get in the play-offs in the east and that is still a realistic goal for this team.

As soon as he gets sort of healthy he has the chance to continu the improvement of his outside shot. It looked already a lot better the last time I saw a video of him shooting jumpers, so with more repetitions he should be able to have a somewhat decent outside shot. Really hope he gets back healthy!

I love MKG butaren’t all these injuries a result of his reckless, maybe out of control style of play? He has impressive natural abilities but again this injury occurs on an out of control drive. Maybe he’ll have to slow down a bit.

I think he was fouled on that play which got him losing his ballance.

Things like this happen to everyone, could have been anyone else to me. Just bad luck imo

Is it weird to feel bad for MJ?  Trying hard to get his Charlotte team on track but every season some bad stuff happened, and now losing his best player for the season, i think with him they could have challenge the 5-6 seed but now they are at worst spot as 9-10 seed in east, any chance MKG make a quick recovery and come back at some point this season?

MKG isn’t the best player on that team… He’s easily top 5. But there’s Walker and Al Jefferson that are better than him for sure. Then there’s Nic Batum who could be better than him. So maybe MKG is the 3rd or 4th best player on that team. For sure not the best.

Cause you looking too much into stats but Look at his value by team W and L record with him playing or not playing the last two seasons, and also add to it an excepted improvement by him he should have made going into this season, imo he would have been not less best player than anyone on his team this season if not got injured…

MKG is their best, most important player, period. The best player of a team is the guy you need the most to win,not the guy who’s gonna put up the most points. He’s clearly, and it’s not close the most important guy on this team.

Totally, and those who underrated mkg are probably the same that don’t understand the value of draymond green, cause mkg is unique player very much like draymond in his importance and value that is not show on stats… Just his hustle, activity, energy and intensity, how he defend like for two people, how he dosn’t need the ball in his hands to effect the game on offense, god it sucks not to have him this year, hornets season is over, they had a chance with him to go to second round in the playoff i belive.,,

I understand that he’s a VERY strong defensive presence. But without a jump shot, he cannot be that teams best player, since that’s the only thing he could do. Big Al is often in consideration for All-Star games. I’ve never even seen MKG in consideration. I understand that he is an important piece on that Hornets team, but best player. Not right now… Could be, yes… But not right now.

It’s not about analyzing the nskillset of a guy,but more about looking at raw +/- numbers and wins-losses. The differential between him on the court and off the court is insanely high. Same thing when people say Rubio should be traded . No way!! he’s their absolute best player right now, when he’s on the floor they’re a decent team, when he’s off, they’re the worst team in the league.

And what about the hornets? Was really looking up watching the new look of them this year with the win now mode, i expected them top be a top 5 east team and good chance making the second round, but losing their most imported player make them 8-12 seed, devastating for them!
