I seen someone propose this trade on another site and it got me to thinking. Potentially it could work out in both teams favor or it could be a complete disaster, what do ya’ll think?

Potential Starting 5 (Pelicans):

1-Holiday
2-Evans
3-Aminu
4-Davis
5-McGhee

(Nuggets):

1-Lawson
2-Gordon
3-Chandler/Gallinari
4-Faried
5-Hickson

My thoughts:

I know NO wants to dump Gordon’s salary and this is an option not sure if Denver is willing to part with McGhee after they signed him to that big extension but it gives them another big next to Davis and could potentially form a twin towers Defensive juggernaut duo. With this move they have hardly any shooters with Gordon gone and Anderson potentially out for an extended period of time but could open up minutes for Evans and form one of the biggest backcourts in the league. This trade doesn’t really improve Denver’s roster I mean Gordon is a superior player to Foye at starter but more of a wash than anything maybe they could pry away some picks and get rid of McGhee’s contract if they like Hickson and Mozgov to hold it down at 5 moving forward. NO is in a shitty position that looks like they will lose they lottery pick next year to Philly this trade could either improve them or make them worse so they’d have a excuse for tanking and shooting for a top5 pick. I’m ranting at this point but I’m more interested in seeing what other people think…

I am a huge fan of McGee and have never really been one of Gordon. I’d love to see McGee next to Davis down in New Orleans. Very interesting idea.
