McDunkinMike James took a buyout from the Wizards in hopes that he’d sign with a playoff team.
James told ESPN.com’s Chris Sheridan that he hopes to sign with the Jazz, a team he has long admired.
Sheridan also reports that the veteran guard has turned down offers to play in Europe.

JoeWolf1The Wiz have a lot of youth, but so did the Bucks last year. I think the Wiz could sneak in as an 8th seed next year. They’ll probably be bounced in the 1st round, but I don’t think the Jazz are a contender either.

ghettosermonParticipantNo offense to Mike James but he’s a chemistry killer. He’s always been a great volume scorer but that’s about it. For a PG all he does is shoot, you’d think by now he’d learn to play a little point. Not to mention he gives you nothing on the defensive end. He had a couple of good seasons like in Toronto and Detroit but at this point for a 36 year old who doesn’t play D and jacks it up too much, I can’t see him generating much interest. I guess if you are looking for an extra scorer off the bench he could be ok but he just seems like the kind of guy who needs constant minutes to stay active. I will say Miami could have given him a look as like a 10th man off the bench, with all the attention on the floor going to the big 3 he could actually probably score in a pretty efficient manner. Could have been a good backup to Chalmers when he’s having trouble scoring.

Da1potParticipantHe really needs to reconsider his European offers, because I don’t see any NBA team offering him much of anything. I agree ghettosermon, he is a chemistry killer and that was evident when he was on the Wizards.

CodySLCParticipantThe Jazz already have 3 point guards under contract. D-will, Ronnie Price, and Sundiata Gaines.
