paradigmnParticipantI understand that it is extremely early to talk about 6th and 7th grade basketball players, but a couple of these names have actually been mentioned on this chat forum before.
These five players obviously have a long way to go in terms of their physical development and overall basketball skill level, but they are certainly off to a solid start.
I am not trying to hype these kids up. I Just want to bring some positive attention to a couple players who have been performing quite well in the middle school ranks and seem to have some nice future potential.
I have incorporated a bunch of interesting hyper links throughout the article that you can click on as well as some videos of each player.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantSpeaking of the little kids ballin, does anyone remember the kid that could handle so well? He was a light complected black kid.. He was like 8 or 9 in this YouTube vid and he was doing very advanced handling drills. His dad was the main person in the vid that was talking. IDK a name or anything but Imma look for it..
Regarless, anyone know what happend to this kid?

ChewyParticipantThis is an absolute joke. My AAU team in 7th grade has two guys who were 6’6 and one guy who was 6’7. You know what happened? The 6’7 guy got involved in gangs and never played hs bball. One 6’6 guy also never played hs bball and the third sat on the bench at his hs as a 6’6 3 man who couldnt really handle the ball or shoot very well. All three of those guys could move and jump similiar to the one kid on your list. Spotlights like this are only good for one thing: the "aww look at the cute little basketball player" YouTube videos. Any actually talk of basketball or skills reguarding these players are pointless and an example of the overly exposed and abused media coverage that these kids unfortunaty get thrown into.
PS. Just have to clarify that I always click on and read the links that you put up Paradigmn and I enjoy reading the stuff you put up. However, I just find the attention that these little kids get humerously ridiculous. You can call it hating, but I just call it my opinion.

aamir543ParticipantI remeber that kid Jaylin Flemming. They were calling him the next Kobe, but any exposure before sohphmore year of Highschool is waaaaaaaaaaay too early. Hell, no wonder Lebron is so arrogant. If I was being hailed as "The King" or in my case "Air India", I’d be full of myself.

paradigmnParticipantI definitely understand how people can frown upon young ballers having articles writen about them as well as other things that come from being a good basketball player at such a young age.
I love everything about BASKETBALL (except this BS lockout)…The past….The present…and…most of all…The future. My intentions are not to HYPE these players, rather show basketball enthusiasts (that’s all of us I think) the type of talent that is on the horizon.
Obviously these middle school ballers (as well as all the others that get exposure) might never become BIG TIME players. I try to make that point in the article, that these players are nothing more than some nice 6th and 7th grade ballers. Besides mentioning that I think Cody Riley has the potential to shake David Stern’s hand one day, I don’t think I was BLOWING these players up too much.
Anyways….like I said, I respect the opinions of everyone on this chat board, even ProudGrandpa’s opinions….and…I have to admit…his "pervert" comment even made me chuckle….lol.

real talkParticipantSince you are talking about some of the best Middle School Kids so far. YOU MUST see this Kid named Justin Roberts. Hes a 5’9 PG for the Indy Hoosiers. He’s led them to 2 AAU National Championships in a row.
This kids handles are sick for his size. he has a couple of videos on youtube. But, its not a video of his workouts without someone on him, they are videos of his live games. He’s unreal for his size and his skills. I’ve heard that Prep schools are already recruiting him, just like a few colleges. Although I don’t believe in high schools recruiting kids this young or colleges, but its the nature of he basketball beast. Especially when kids like him are averaging 25pts in school ball. He played in a high school league and avg 15 pts and 6 asst. Please remember this kids name JUSTIN ROBERTS class of 2017. 5’9 PG in the 7th grade. He’s far better than most of those small guards like Fleming and Harge.
