RUDEBOY_ParticipantI was reading an Adrian Wojnarowski article this morning and couldnt believe it when he wrote That Heat President Pat Riley and Heat Personel have been in Chicago to watch center Eddy Curry workout..And plan to bring him to Miami early next week for a physical and another workout….
Front office sources say its 50-50 that he will be signed in time for the playoffs and if they sign him they’re going to have to waive rookie center Dexter Pittman to make room for him on the roster…Curry has only played in 10 games in 3 seasons..His best season was the 2006-2007 campaign when he averaged 19 points & 7 rebounds…Personal problems, weight issues and maintaining the need to out eat an entire town have been his main problems…

Lotto StudParticipantThis will be a perfect fit for him only if he can play, now only if T.J. Ford can get there by any chance.

The lake show2He must have lost alot of weight and looked at least ok in the workout Pat Riley saw. doesn’t mean it will translate to playing time or a contract from the Heat but it is a start

HotSnotParticipantI can’t stand Eddy Curry. What a waste of talent. No work ethic at all. With that said, as laughable as it might sound… Curry is exactly the type of pickup the Knicks should be making. They are getting crushed inside the paint. No one else up front can play D anyways, so why not throw in another big body with some offensive skill? Its not like New York is playing the SSOL offense lately. Its alot of half court stuff. Billups and Melo aren’t really in D’Antoini running shape and that was always the biggest knock against Curry. If your gonna play alot of half court why not use Curry? Concede the defense and just try to overpower on offense. Things couldn’t really be worse. I can’t think of another big body FA who’s any better out there right now. The Knicks need some size urgently.
Curry would help the Knicks more then he would help the Heat.
There’s wayy to much bad blood and history between the Knicks and Curry for this to EVER happen but kinda ironic though…

I am well aware D’Antoni refused to play Curry. The reason is because Curry couldn’t get his fat ass up and down the court fast enough for the SSOL offense.. and his D sucked. NY has been playing alot less SSOL since Melo arrived. They don’t really have the personnel to play it. So if your gonna play a hybrid game with some half court sets why not have a talented big in the paint? The one thing he can do is score.
I thought this was pretty clear the first time? You don’t read?

aarondsonixfanParticipantI don’t get it. Why sign Eddy Curry when you have a younger version of him in Dexter Pittman?
0 - Posted on: Sat, 04/02/2011 - 10:19am #516828

FastAndFuriousParticipantNo I meant as in it’s obvious Eddy Curry doesn’t want to play afor the Knicks……doing things such as Not reporting to camp and not losing weight, when a player shows you that, specially at that level where you still getting payed millions its obvious he doesn’t want to be apart of the orginization thats all im saying

HotSnotParticipantMiami has to waive someone to sign Curry. If they waive Pittman it might be a good pickup for the Knicks.

KayjayParticipantRecorded at like…6’10? I don’t think that really solves the Knicks problems. He’d still be too small for them. But its whatever really. Eddy Curry considering his background and past is enough to turn people off. But I don’t know how I feel about the Heat accquiring him. But its been said Riley wouldn’t have considered signing him if he saw something others didn’t. He’s still like 28 isn’t he? He’s young enough to atleast put in some hard work to improve. Seriously guys, everyone deserves a chance.

Cardinal_FanParticipantIf this Curry has really matured and got into shape he would be good playing beside Bosh, Miami needs a guy that can actually score in the post.

"Hotsnot Anthony Randolph isnt fat & DAntonio refused 2 play him"Do you ever read? I said "big body". Randolph wasn’t better then who the Knicks were playing at the 4 while he was there. You’d think Shelden Williams might bring something to the table but he’s nearing Curry conditioning levels and he can’t play any offense. That dudes out of shape. Jeffries would be nice if he was 40-50 pounds heavier. Maybe Jeffries should hook up with Curry this offseason for "conditioning" pointers.

iguapops420ParticipantNo way they release Pittman. He was measured at a 6’11.5 in shoes. He’s got terrific work ethic and hasa garned mad praise for his development and ability to get in shape. My guess would be a more seldomly used player such as Mags. No way they give up their Perkins type of the future just for Eddy Curry. Wasn’t HE measured at 6’10?
