For_Never_EverParticipantHe isn’t sorry at the least bit. still making excuses…i was fine with 7games, after hearing him, I wish it had been more …almost like he is blaming harden for hitting his elbow with his head…what a douchebag.

baggin13Participanthe earned what he got, but the point he made at the end about older players bashing him was interessting, never thought about it like that

bobbybParticipantI cant believe i am saying this , but i understand his frustrations. Hypocrits like Bill Laimbeer and Shaq are criticizing him, meanwhile they used to intentionally elbow other players all the time!!! He never complained about being suspension, he just questioned the length of time.

DurantsWingspanI always liked Ron Artest, but what a tool. I always thought he just had mental problems and would snap at times, but overall he was a good guy once he came back to his senses, but wow! Not even close. Will not even apologize. Does not even realize what he did was wrong. Then he is going to act like it is cool and he is like this "retro player" that plays like he is from the 80s that elbows people and that is acceptable? I admit that maybe Bill lambier did throw elbows and was a pretty dirty player but the year is 2012. It is not the 1980s. That was over 20s years ago. Basketball changes alot in 20 years. Think about the 60s to the 80s. Pretty significant. Now a days it is not acceptable to throw intentional elbows. But the main thing is there is a HUGE difference between an intentional elbow to someone and an intentional elbow to someones head. When you are throwing an elbow at someones head you can really really injure them, especially when you are Ron Artest. What a low life honestly. Says he is the hulk. Like WTF??? This isn’t the UFC? You are not actually supossed to be allowed to hurt people and intimidate them and make them scared off you. That is screwed up. Like in football that is uncalled for but basketball??? Honestly I thought the suspension was short, but since it was the playoffs it makes each game way more valuable, so I thought it was adequate. But after watching this interview, he should honestly be out all season. Like WTF? Why should James Harden have to be scared to play baskeball with Ron Artest guarding him. That is really not fair on a streetball court, yet alone a professional basketball court.

mds0549ParticipantIn a perfect world, we will see a OKC vs. LAL matchup in the playoffs. This time, the Serge Protector Ibaka may have something waiting for World Peace, or Kendrick Perkins who seems to hate everyone. Even when you make a mistake or have an accident you apologize, it isn’t saying that you meant to do it but shows humanity. Here is a guy who names himself after Peace and dishes out a consussion with a vicious elbow but he doesn’t have the decency to call and say sorry that you got hurt.
He should have been out 10 games and if anyone has Hardin’s back Ron Ron will miss a few games with a concussion of his own. BUT DON’T CALL IT A BOUNTY!!!!

For_Never_EverParticipantHas Bill Laimbeer or anybody ever attacked anyone for no reason after just scoring on offence ?

Wavy BagelsParticipantNotice how he said he didn’t know Harden was hurt because he said "people FLOP in the NBA all the time"?

ilike.panochasParticipantLambier usually does his hitting after getting scored on. Those Pistons Bad Boys forbid anyone to score in the paint, or there were consequences.

sheltwon3ParticipantI think people need to take things in context. In competitive sports you do have to keep that edge. You don’t think MJ didnt do it. I know Shaq did it. He would find reasons to hate people. I doubt Ron Artest meant to elbow him in the head but I know it wanted to elbow him and send a message. This is nothing new because back in the day this was common. You have the Knicks and the Miami heat that would beat up on you. The Bulls that won 72 used to do that same things.

sheltwon3ParticipantI think a lot of young people in here did not see that so your thought process on this stuff is different but for the people that remember when the game was more physical, Artest would have gotten maybe 2 games only because of reputation. I remember when Shaq got like one game for slapping some Center and they said it was a good thing he use open hand instead of fist because the punishment for that was more severe because of that KJ and Isiah Thomas brawl.

DurantsWingspanSheltwon the 90s was 20 years ago. Things change. In the 60s players didn’t even dunk, by the 80s there was MJ. Things in sports change with the times. It is just not like it used to be. Even in football, in the 70s and 80s you’d have the Oakland Raiders poking guys in the eyes and stuff, it just isn’t acceptable anymore. Even if you just look at society, back in the day when kids had a problem with eachother they faught. When kids were bold, they’d get beaten. That just isn’t the norm anymore. We are a more tolerant society now a days built on peace and acceptance. Back in the day, War was a norm. It just isn’t the same anymore. We are taught to be tolerant now a days and that is just how society is. If this was the 90s I’m sure that elbow to the head would have been even more violent and ridiculous because everyone is a product of their environment. If this is what Ron is doing now, what would he have been doing when elbows were acceptable?

sheltwon3ParticipantDurants, I understand that things in sport change but still competitive nature does not change. I am glad I grew up in the 80’s because this new generation is not for me.
Also Durant the world now is worst than it was accept people hide behind their hate. At least before it was up front and you knew where your hater were now you don’t
Time should not change the nature of the game. Why do you think people always long for the sports of the yesterdays. Today’s sports has gotten soft. I admit some things had to change but I think people are going overboard.

DurantsWingspanI grew up in the 90s so I saw both late 80s and 2000s and I am by no means saying I agree with it. But with that said, that is still how it is. I am not saying that I think the league should be played this way, but the way that it is this is ridiculous. They make players wear a dress code, all they do is talk about safety and all that stuff to make the game soft. I am just saying that something like this in todays game is like straight punching someone in the face if it was the 80s. And people do hide behind the hate but I’m saying what they are saying they are is fraud if this occurs is all I’m saying.
