NBAjunkie81ParticipantMelo looks great – you guys think this Knicks team could really make the Playoffs in "Weak" East???
& just a quick side thought, watching N.Y. I can’t help think how good they would look if Okafor fell to them at #4 – I like Porzingus but Melo / Okafor could be a high scoring duo b/c they Both draw a double team…

DukeDaSquadParticipantWell Melo is healthy and Phil Jackson made some really good offseason acquisitions so it was easy to see that they would make the playoffs… In the East all they would need is a winning record to pretty much guarantee a playoff spot but if they continue at their current win rate then they should crack 50 wins for the season. Also Afflalo hasnt even played yet I believe…
As a Lakers fan, no matter how Russell turns out, Okafor should have been taken with the 2nd pick

DukeDaSquadParticipantLol i do like the guy but they hyped him up knowing he would be there and didn’t take him. It makes no sense to me. I Honestly would have preferred Towns over Okafor to the Lakers so im not extremely biased…

NBAjunkie81Participantworst record it looked like the Knicks were going to get that #2 pick & plug Okafor in the Center of that triangle & offense w/ Melo they could have worked a beautiful inside / outside game & it could have taken some pressure off Melo as he grows older b/c both players command a double team….
I think Russell will do well for you guys in L.A. – u just have to give him a few years to develop & make the team his own… I wasn’t trying to bring the Draft up again & I like Porzingus too… I just saw Melo have a great game last night & it brought me back to last year & what Phil was hoping to accomplish…

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantYeah Lakers should have took Jah.. But Melo was hooping last night man. He is a beast, best scorer in the world. But I expect them to make the playoffs. Their offense is playing great so far.

sheltwon3ParticipantOkafor would not work well with Randle and don’t sleep on Russell. Kendal Marshall was almost out of the league and he played well in LA and has played well in Milwaukee and soon Philly. Russell is more athletic, better shooter, and maybe a similar type passer. The thing is Marshall had two year in and came out as a sophmore before he joined the Lakers. Also Lakers have a bunch of scorers and Russell need to figure out his role.

WetalkinboutpracticeParticipantDon’t forget Marshall did most of that damage playing in D’antoni’s system in LA, which is of course notorious for boosting point guard numbers (even allowing Chris Duhon to set a Knicks franchise record 22 assist night). His production wasn’t the same for Jason Kidd in Milwaukee before tearing his acl. So just keep in mind he & Russell are in very different scenarios as Byron Scott’s Lakers run a more tamed settled offense in comparison to the feverish pace of the 7 seconds or less.

frogmanParticipantOkafor gets doubled because there is no point even guarding most of the other players on the 76ers.
