Lawrence112ParticipantAll the media talks about in the eastern conference are the Bulls and the Cavs. Who is going to win the East the Bulls or the Cavs. Mr. Obama would you take the Bulls or the Cavs in the East? Because no other teams exist/are relevant in this conference. What they don’t seem to take into account that neither of these two teams are even in the top three seeds in their conference! In fact if the season ended today they would be playing Bulls Cavs in the bloody 1st round of the playoffs in the 4 vs 5 seed matchup instead of in the ECF like the media says happening is inevitable. Lets give the Raptors, Wiz, and Hawks (who have just won their 9th straight game) some god damn respect. Sorry for the rant but it had to be said.

young waveParticipantthey get no respect cuz they aint the truth. Sorry to say.
I highly doubt there is an eastern conference team that has any kind of shot in the finals.

llperezhavent really been following all teams hard, but they mentioned during tonights lakers/spurs game that the best record in the east would be 7th in the west.

SmooveKRYPTParticipantToronto was getting major love before DeMar wen’t down. But you’re acting surprised…it’s the media, they always push the superstars. OKC is currently the 12 seed out West and they’re getting talked about more than anyone else (with the exception of GS) because their 2 stars just came back. It is what it is. But Toronto and Washington don’t mind it at all I’m sure and they won’t back down from Cleveland or Chicago come playoff time.

JordoParticipantThey’ll bash the hell out of these teams when they aren’t doing to hot but kinda sweep thier success under the rug. ATL, WAS, and TOR were all mediocre teams 2-3 years ago and they’ve put together real good teams without having a "superstar". They could at the very least acknowledge them.

Mad MaxParticipantAs much as I like those other teams, let’s be real here none of these teams have done squat, I mean cool you have a good record after 1/4 of season but that doesn’t mean anything, you got to win playoffs series to get respect.

OhCanada-ParticipantEast isn’t that bad. I’d say it has 6 legit teams when healthy at least. Toronto, Washington, Atlanta, Chicago, Cleveland and Miami. Cleveland and Chicago deserve the respect they receive. Respect is earned and as a Raps fan its understood.

Ghost01ParticipantI think all 3 of those teams are getting pretty good respect if you are reading the people who actually know basketball.
If you are listening to morons on sportscenter or first take, what do you expect?
The truth is, the regular season, specifically the first 25 games of a regular season, mean very very little as to what is going to happen in postseason basketball. Trying to be objective as possible about it, the Bulls clearly have the best team in the East, and if they are relatively healthy for the playoffs deserve to be the favorite. The Cavs, well they have a guy who hasn’t missed a finals since 2010 when his best teammate was Mo Williams. You have to commend what the Hawks, Raptors, and Wizards are doing, but if you are talking about "who wins the east" the fact they have lost 2-3 less games this season than the Bulls or Cavs means very little.

Sewok15ParticipantWashington and Toronto are for real. They both have relentless attacking PGs surrounded with solid talent. I would rank them 1 and 2 in the East from what I have seen so far. Now obviously by the end of the season Cleveland and Chicago should improve if healthy but I wouldn’t be narrowing the East down to 2 teams like many have been doing all year. I would say any of those 4 could come out of the East this year.
Atlanta I’m not completely sold on but they have built a nice winning culture around their organization under the radar. I wouldn’t be too worried about them in the playoffs because they lack a real star player to carry them when need be but they could still finish ahead of Chicago and Cleveland in the regular season.
