JNixonParticipantThe thread to talk about the game, which is coming up later

IndianaBasketballParticipantMcCallum looks just like his daddy lol
Too bad his father isn’t still coaching at IU… We could use him. I remember when he played with IU’s recruit team when we had EJ, Crawford, DeAndre Thomas and Jamarcus Ellis.

JNixonParticipantWhat if he goes to Detroit? That would be kinda similar to when Mike Beasley was considering playing for Charlotte. With the way he dominated the Big 12, can you imahgine how good he would’ve been in the A-10?
0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/31/2010 - 1:35pm #273693
stanford hoopsi dont think it would be on the beasley level but it would be pretty good for that school prob wont make a real big difference like when the kid from mich st transferred there. i think he was a micky d’s all american as well
0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/31/2010 - 1:37pm #273695
stanford hoopsimcurious to see how many peopel go overboard at the end of the game about players like they did last year with favors.
as far as players imlooking foward to see tobias harris and for some people on here to watch perry jones and see if there opinions are the same as when they watched his youtube clips
0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/31/2010 - 1:37pm #273694
JNixonParticipantYea he’s not a dominant guy like Beasley, but I mean a Mickey D’s guy at this level would make them tourny worthy in 2 years at least if built around the right way at the college level
I never knew he could jump like this until I watched thi the other day. He seemed like a regular pure PG, not a great athlete.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/31/2010 - 1:38pm #273696
IndianaBasketballParticipantI REALLY like Percy Jones’ potential man. It’s hard not to. I hope his worth ethic, etc is legit. I think he could be something. He has all of the physical tools.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/31/2010 - 1:39pm #273697
stanford hoopscould be.. im not sure if they made the tourney the last time they had a micky ds player on there team( the mich st transfer).. i wont how many mickds guys have taken there teams to the tournament( the ones that went to low midmajors. there was another one whos name escapes me who went to marshall a while back. cant remember if there team ever made it to the tournament
0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/31/2010 - 1:39pm #273698
JNixonParticipantYea. I think alot of people (including me) have learned there lesson about not judging guys on these games and open court games. I saw Favors play in a scrimmage and thought he’d be almost as dominant as Mike Beasley.

stanford hoopsyeah his potential is out of this world. the go hardness doesnt match at all though
0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/31/2010 - 1:42pm #273701
stanford hoopsyeah many people did. the only reason i didnt was because i watch a players skill set and how they score there points and do there damage. if a guy is showing a bunch of post moves as well as boxing out and the basics while dominating then im impressed. not so much if its just alley’s and fast breakpoints and wide open things because thats a small part of what there real games in college will consist of
0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/31/2010 - 1:42pm #273702
JNixonParticipantI think Jones will be a 15 ppg scorer in college next year, to be modest. He’s very talented from what I’ve seen, and I just don’t see college wing players being able to defend him that well. And his D, or lack thereof, won’t be real pronounced in that Baylor zone. He should be a nice player in college, at least offensively.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/31/2010 - 1:50pm #273706
stanford hoopshe would be averaging exactly what he did in hs then..actually i think he pushed it up to 17. without being double teammed. hes capable but i dont think he will. once a player gets in him he shuts down. or if his shots dont falll early or if things dont go his way. i have never in my life seen a guy as talented as him who never dominated in highschool. even guys who faced double and triple teams in hs with less talent then him dominated more. it just confused me so much
0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/31/2010 - 1:54pm #273708
JNixonParticipantBaylor has a simlar player on their roster named Anthony Jones. Both are kinda too laid-back, about 6’10 or 6’11 and 215-225, and have good scoring potential. Same last name, so maybe they’re long last brothers. lol. I think both can be mismatches, and both will make life miserable for teams on the perimeter. I don;t see alot of teams being able to contain them offensively, especially if LaceDarius returns.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/31/2010 - 1:58pm #273712
stanford hoopsyou would think so.. and i hope perry changes and gets fire under him when he gets to college because other hs couldnt match up with him and players shorter then him would just give him the business and check him into scoring single figures. now if a highschool kid shorter and not as good can do that then i can imagin what college guys who are bigger and better can do. i hope he does turn it up but im just tryna make sure peopel on here dont set there sights too high and be suprised when he doesnt look as spectacular in college like they though he would like deandre jordan because of his motor(which is the same)
0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/31/2010 - 2:01pm #273715
midwestbbscoutParticipantthat dude can shoot too….he is a big time scorer and I didn’t even know that he got up like that….every time I see him he just guns….
0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/31/2010 - 2:03pm #273716
JNixonParticipantExactly. This Slam Dunk contest was all a MAJOR shock to me. He seemed like a pure PG who shoots well, not an amazing athlete.
He got robbed in this contest too.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/31/2010 - 2:08pm #273718
midwestbbscoutParticipanthe must have an uncle on the judging panel or summin….

0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/31/2010 - 2:27pm #273738
Mr.Knick 32ParticipantI’m gonna enjoy Fab Melo at the Cuse….He’s gonna be a good player off the bat!
0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/31/2010 - 2:28pm #273740
DanEboyParticipantatdhe.net is garbage!! I am stuck at work with no TV!! Anyone know any other site to watch this on????

0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/31/2010 - 2:30pm #273742

apb540ParticipantThese kids have got some serious game. I don’t think next years draft is gonna be as bad as people say it’s gonna be.

0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/31/2010 - 3:08pm #273760
stanford hoopsfirst half
impressive
tobias harris- nice handles goes hard can hit the j
harrison barners- smooth silky
kyre irving- quick and good vision
t.jones-looking ok attacking the offensive glass
melo-definsive factor. gets off quick off the ground
shelby-gets to the cup nice game
cj- doesnt need the ball to be a factor..shot blocker and attacks the offensive glass
sullinger- is a bull.. strong and faster then he looks go hardside note perry jones is looking like he looked when i watched his hs games. just trots along looks kinda interested got the ball once and i think krye took it from him or another guard jogged back on defense. in the time he did get he didnt attack the offense or defensive glass. with his potential even when he doesnt get the ball you would think he would be all over the place like cj but he doesnt have that motor and this is a guys whos game is best suited for a game like this. man i hope someone gets fire under him this summer because he could end up dissapointing alot of people
0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/31/2010 - 3:29pm #273765
stanford hoopsi wonder if perry truely loves basketball. like those kids that are tall and gifted and they like it but if they werent tall and gifted they probably wouldnt be geeked to play it
0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/31/2010 - 3:32pm #273768
MagikKnickParticipantMore Brandon Knight, Please?
Perry Jones looks lost,
CJ Leslie is one of my favorite guys to watch, when I was stalkin John Wall 2 years ago, CJ Leslies name came up alot, i like his activity, hes everywhere
Sullinger is an animal, just bullies everyne in the paint
0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/31/2010 - 3:32pm #273769

M-DYMESParticipantKyrie Irving with the blown Layunk. Haha Dukies.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/31/2010 - 3:59pm #273779
stanford hoopskyrie has looked very good this game though..fast as hell
0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/31/2010 - 4:07pm #273780
stanford hoopsyou see how perry is calling for the ball now..after the dunk. attacked the defensive glass and ran the floor for the dunk…this is exactly what i was talkign about..when he gets motivated he goes hard and starts to get looks and his motor gets going for awhile then he disappears for long periods of time
0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/31/2010 - 4:10pm #273781
llpereznot the time to try and draw a charge on the perimter, you just gotta contest that shot.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/31/2010 - 4:14pm #273783
WildDudeParticipantI like what I’ve seen of Fab Melo, he’s a beast on the defensive end,
Harrison Barnes has certainly shown why hes the #1 prospect, although I don’t know why Brandon Knight is #1 on rivals, I was unimpressed until the end of the game when he hit the game-winner as it counted.
Jared Sullinger looks amazing out there, I can’t find a flaw with his game.0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/31/2010 - 4:16pm #273784
stanford hoopstobias was a beast before he got hurt.. i must have missed when he got hurt though
0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/31/2010 - 5:12pm #273799
Da1potParticipantBrandon Knight has been unimpressive all 5 times I have seen him play this year. Sure, I’ll admit he is talented but he is not a one and done at this point. Barnes is a very smooth player with an offensive arsenal and excellent intangibles coupled with a solid i.q. and feel for the game. Barnes will likely be the first guy taken in next year’s draft. Irving was the best point guard in the game and I’m not comparing him to Chris Paul, but he plays with the same kind of poise that Paul does. Jared Sullinger was also very impressive and he will be in the lotto next year. Sullinger played a virtually flawless game and leads his talent-lacking Northland team to wins over better teams every night. Tobias Harris was a beast before he got out… Melo is a good prospect and has good footwork in the post and has good defensive instincts and suprisingly good footwork and touch for a big. Selby is a big time athlete who is a legit NBA prospect, too. Leslie had a lot of intrigue to him and I wonder what a guy like him could develop to. Guys who I don’t think are NBA prospects are Jayvaughn Pinkston, Kendall Marshall, Jereme Richmond, and possibly Deshaun Thomas based on how he played…
0 - Posted on: Wed, 03/31/2010 - 6:32pm #273863
TRC1991Participantjosh smith looked completely unable to play with quicker guys
0 - Posted on: Thu, 04/01/2010 - 12:23am #273928
lalailaParticipantDon’t get wrong with Brandon Knight the two time POY should be the real deal he still had nice end of the game offcourse including that game-winner
Harrison…woow more and more he comes to be the guy to beat in the 2011draft he is better and better in my eyes and no question about it, he is early #1 pick.
Perry Jones looks to be both, DeMarcus and Monroe, in one and ever bigger in those things…he is not just like Cousins gets angry when he can’t play well looks like Perry doesn’t matter about it and it’s even worse, plus adding that Greg Monroe type of consistency(i mean he is THE”he-could-be-the-best-when-he-wants-to”GUY)..offcourse it a bad thing but it’s interesting, that’s why i love watch college games and all other nba draft stuff..he will be SO interesting to watch and discuss because you will never know if he will be non-factor or if he will show his amazing combo of skills-talent-athleticism and just dominate the game.

JNixonParticipantI think Josh Selby can be similar to a more physically gifted Sherron Collins if he goes to Kansas, which I think he’ll go.
Perry was transparent, but I think he did show more fire at the end of the game.
Kendall Marshall is a nice playmaker, but he’s not a big scoring threat and doesn’t figure to be the surefire starter for UNC next year, especially not off the bat. He seems like more of a half-court PG than any PG Roy Williams has had at UNC.
Jared Sulinger is a good low post player. He’s skilled, seems to have the length to make up for his average height, and the girth to not get knocked off the post.
Kyrie Irving reminds me soooo much of Jay Williams that its not even funny. A tall, explosive PG with good scoring and passing ability. He also has been a good defender every time I’ve seen him play (twice.lol)
Reggie Bullock is a shooter with decent handles. I think he can be like Wayne Ellington for UNC.
Jelan Kendrick is very similar to C-D-R as Quincey said. I still maintain that his AAU teammate and underrated propsect Jamail Jones is better than him though. Look out for him at Marquette.
CJ Leslie is very athletic, long, and energetic. He’s not a good shooter or a good ball-handler though, which he needs to work on.
Tobias Harris was impressive. He’s got a BUNCH of offensive skills. Not very many weaknesses on that end.
Patric Young is very strong and imposing. I like his energy too, but he’s not real skilled.
Fab Melo is raw offensively, but he’s a great defensive presence. He was great blocking shots and played with passion. He fouled out of an All-Star game lol, so you know he played hard.
Terrence Jones has some good skills. Should be a nice offensive player for whatever school he goes to.
Harrison Barnes is very good at everything.
Doron Lamb is a nice scoring threat.
Josh Smith needs to lose weight. You can tell he’s overweight because his head looks very small for his body. Alright offensively though.
Keith Appling is a ball-hog to me. He’s talented, but he forces alot of shots. He did in this game too.

lalailaParticipantactually this class looks pretty good and while looks like every college player declared for nba draft LOL i think next year we could have a lot of one&done guys.
can’t wait Nike Hoop Summit & Jordan Brand Classic

DeAndreParticipantPerry looked bad at the start of the game
when he entered when the game was almost over
he was more aggressive and demanded the ball,
but really, it looked at the start like he didnt even want to be there0 - AuthorPosts
