Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantI’m not altogether surprised that Dallas has decided to move on from porzingis, who hasn’t been able to stay healthy and wasn’t satisfied with his role in Dallas. I’m just surprised that his value was so low that all they could get in return were basically 2 players that the wizards were begging to get rid of anyway. And no additional draft picks and other compensation. They aren’t really saving any money either with this trade. Just kind of a head-scratcher for me. I know dinwiddie could be insurance in case Brunson leaves in the off-season, and bertans gives them another shooter (in theory anyway), but it’s hard to see how this trade really makes them better. Unless they were just that desperate to move on from porzingis, it seems like they probably should’ve held out for something better.
This season will likely be lost for the wizards anyway with beal out, but it gives them a selling point to try to convince him to not opt out in the summer. Hard to say this deal in any way hurts the wizards, although they are going to have to do something to address the pg position after trading dinwiddie and Aaron holiday.2+ - AuthorPosts
